TiVo Mega

As a TiVo Blogger I enjoy sharing all the fantastic features of TiVo as well as exciting and fun news and there is some big news to share. Did you hear that the TiVo Mega is coming?

Mega is a DVR so big it could record up to 3 years of TV! At 24 TB it’s 12 times the storage of anything on the market today. It has 26,000 hours of SD recording space and approximately 4,000 hours of HD recording space.

TiVo Mega features 6 tuners that can record a multitude of content simultaneously. It also supports the TiVo Mini for a whole house solution. Users can live stream TV or recordings to their smartphones and tablets and even download programming for offline playback.

Mega makes it easy to find what you want to watch and to make sure you don’t miss it. And for those times when you are in the mood to watch something but you are not quite sure what, it offers many ways to find the perfect show or movie including:

  • Universal search across cable, video-on-demand, and web apps including Netflix and YouTube
  • Collections offer categories of shows and movies based on current events, seasonal suggestions, and other intriguing themes such as New Fall TV, Shark Week, Academy Awards, Retro Classics, and more.
  • What To Watch provides a personalize dashboard with recommendations for what’s on now, next, and tonight

The free app for smartphones and tablets allows you to manage your DVR, has a recording scheduler that allows you to add or remove recordings, as well as enhanced Wish List management.

The Mega features the TiVo Slide Pro Remote with slide out complete full QWERTY keyboard which makes text entry quick and easy. The remote also has a RF signal which gives it maximum power and removes line of site requirements.
