Everyone likes to use spring as an excuse to clean and get rid of all the extra “stuff” that was picked up over the last year. I fully agree with this idea and the way I see it, you might as well make a couple of bucks while gaining some extra space in the home.
Everyone knows about Craigslist, eBay and Amazon, and these are great options, but here are a couple of other apps that are great for listing your products to your local community. Check ‘em out!
Wallapop – Buy & Sell pretty much anything in your home. Wallapop connects your with local buyers and sellers. You can list just about anything in your home, clothes, video games, furniture. Buy these items at a great price, save money and make money!
Varage Sale – This app creates more of a secure community. You need to be approved to enter the Varage Sale community, which provides you with a bit more security and eliminates the potential “threatening environment” some feel with Craigslist. You are able to set meetings and times right thru the app. In addition to all of this, the listings are shared with your local groups and everything is available, you can find some great deals here, and get money for what you consider “junk.”
OfferUp – I think OfferUp provides you with the fastest way to list items. This is another community based sales site which lets you communicate directly with other member to sell or buy items. Again, this is another great way to make some spare money by doing that spring cleaning.
Decluttr – with a name that is straight to the point, Decluttr does exactly what it’s name is. I am sure you, like me, have a box of CDs, DVDs or old video games under your bed, in the closet or somewhere just taking up space. Decluttr lets you scan the barcode of your old music or games and gives you a price right at that moment. You can make a couple of bucks on items you haven’t used in YEARS! The best thing about Decluttr is that you box it up, and they pay for and provide you with the shipping. After you mail it out, you get a check from them a couple days after delivery is confirmed. Not an immediate payment, but this is a great way to get rid of items in bulk, clear space and make some money.
All of these apps are great ways to incentivize you to do some cleaning, in addition to that, most of these sites also give you a chance to find some really cool things to buy, so keep your goal of cleaning in mind and don’t buy too much from other sellers!

I need to do spring cleaning and haven’t heard of a couple of these apps. Thanks!
My basement and closets are terrifying. I definitely need to clear some stuff out before summer. Would be great to make a buck or two while I’m at it. I’ve only used Craigslist, so this is definitely a great list for a newbie like me to look into! :)
i have so much crap I need to get rid of. This app sounds great!
I seriously need to clear out my closets and those boxes of things I put away and haven’t looked at in years.

These sound like great apps. I’ve been spring cleaning and de -cluttering and painting.

I love offerup! We’re in the middle of a DIY remodel and we’ve decided to get rid of a lot of things at the same time.
wow did not realize that make apps to use for posting items to get rid of
The problem with using these apps for me is I find things I want and then I don’t declutter I just replace with something else LOL
Some of these are new to me so I may look into this…I am totally trying to simplify…just too much stuff!
I use the local pages and have sold many items! Great tips
I haven’t used any apps to sell some of my things, but i’ve been looking around to see which one to use.I haven’t heard of this one but I will check it out
Thanks for sharing these great apps! I’m not looking forward to Spring cleaning but maybe I can make some money with stuff I don’t want.
I’ve used Decluttr more than a few times. The other look nice as well. I’ll have to give them a try too. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks but I’d spend more time on the apps than cleaning or selling!
I have been dreading the cleaning up part, because we have so much to get rid of, and yard sales now days seem like a waste of time. These apps look very promising especially the wallapop app!
These are great. There is a lot of stuff that I need to get rid of, and I will definitely check these out!
I did not know about any of these sites and I have some items I like to sell and get money for. I will have to try one of these sites out! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for introducing me to some new apps. I really like the Decluttr app.
Thanks for introducing me to these sites. I never want to go through the hassle of Craig’s List or EBay. Also, way to much work to drag everything out and back in for a garage sale.
Such great apps! I’m a member of some of our garage sale groups on Facebook and love it! I’m going to check out a couple of these apps.
I dont use aa cellphone but those are pretty neat apps. I like the varage sale one the best. I am alwaays wary about meeting people out of the blue.
Completely agree. I have found local yard sale groups on Facebook very useful. I sell items and don’t have to worry about shipping anything.
