One of my favorite holidays is coming up. National Brownie Day! It’s on December 8th and it’s a delicious reason to make up a batch of brownies. I’m excited to work with Kraft on this sponsored post as Kraft Foods Tastemaker. I browsed the Kraft Recipes site for Christmas recipes that feature brownies.
There are all kinds of fantastic recipes on the site including ideas for Christmas appetizers, desserts, cookies, and even crafts and decorations. Inspired by these, I decided to put a fun spin on brownies to celebrate National Brownie Day.
I made these Salted Caramel Surprise Brownies using a box brownie mix but you could make homemade brownies as well. To make them stand out from the crowd I decided to layer JET-PUFFED Caramel & Vanilla Swirl Mallow Bites and some salted caramel ice cropping.
Once I mixed up the brownie mix following the directions on the box I put some of the Mallow Bites in a bowl and popped them in the microwave for a few seconds to get them nice and melted. I poured half the brownie mix in the pan and then spooned the melted Mallow Bites on top of the mix. I then layered on the salted caramel ice cream topping and finished it off with the rest of the brownie mix.
Once it came out of the oven we were excited to give them a try.
We were thrilled to find the brownies were delicious and the Mallow Bites and ice cream topping added a lovely caramel flavor throughout. The brownies were soft and chewy and a fantastic mix of chocolate and caramel – a perfect way to celebrate National Brownie Day!
You can check out the recipe on the Kraft Foods site.
I recommend giving it a try to mix up the classic brownie on such a fun and delicious holiday and now I’m off to find a yummy Christmas cookie recipe to make next.
