As an Outback Best Mates Ambassador trip, compensation, and gift cards were provided. The honest opinions are my own.
No Rules, Just Right! We love Outback Steakhouse, they have great tasting, high quality food at a great price point. A couple of weeks ago I told you about my trip to Outback HQ in Tampa, FL and about some of the details of the trip. As a member of the Outback Steakhouse Best Mates blogger program, I can finally tell you about the main reason we were down there. We travelled to Tampa to learn about Outback’s new limited time offering – Outback Steakhouse Moonshine BBQ Menu, made with real moonshine. It was great then, and a couple of days ago, we had an opportunity to try it at one of our local Outbacks for happy hour, and the Moonshine BBQ was great once again!
The culinary geniuses at Outback managed to dream up and produce a BBQ sauce that is very, I repeat very unique and delicious. It is bold, but not spicy, full of flavor and available on many items. The Moonshine BBQ menu has some great food options, but the first tough choice was which cocktail to start with! The Moonshine BBQ menu features 3 options, the Huckleberry Hooch, Watermelon Hunch Punch and Just Peachee, all made with flavored moonshines. I had the Huckleberry Hooch (mainly b/c I loved the name) and Tésa had the Watermelon Hunch Punch. Both drinks were quite flavorful and tasted like summer, we will try the Just Peachee next time!
When it was time to pick an appetizer, there was no decision to be made, the Moonshine BBQ Wood-Fire Grilled Wings were delicious in Tampa and they were equally delicious here. The flavor is so different, it honestly is hard to describe, the Moonshine BBQ just has a special zing to it that Tésa best described as “it tastes like a picnic” and my description is the “taste of a bold summer.”
My dinner choice was easy – ribs, ribs and more ribs! Outback, even though it is a steakhouse, has great ribs, and when you combine the ribs with the Moonshine BBQ, you can’t help but smile! Tésa went with the Moonshine BBQ Chopped Salad, with chicken, greens, corn, bacon, tomatoes, and tortilla chips. The salad is tossed in a bbq ranch dressing and drizzled with the Moonshine BBQ sauce. That salad never stood a chance! It was very flavorful and yummy.
Other Outback Steakhouse Moonshine BBQ menu options include Sirloin with Moonshine BBQ Bacon Wrapped Shrimp, Moonshine BBQ Combo Platter (shrimp, ribs and chicken all in the Moonshine BBQ sauce), and the Double Moonshine Burger which looks incredible.
After our meal we sadly didn’t save any room for dessert, there is a Skillet Apple Pie on the limited time menu which looks wonderful, and don’t forget about the mini-milkshakes which are always available too. We will have to save some room for those next time!
The Outback Steakhouse Moonshine BBQ menu is only here for a short time, get there now and experience a taste of summer for yourself!
Be sure to register online at Outback and your other favorite restaurants. You’ll get coupons, specials and often freebies around your birthday.
I adore Outback Steakhouse! Unfortunately, our budget hasn’t had room for a restaurant meal for so long I cannot remember! My birthday is in August, maybe things will be better then and they’ll still have that offered! Thanks for the heads up!
We love Outback! Will have to make a trip there soon to try that Skillet Apple Pie.
