Tesa and I love to go out to dinner. If we could, we would go out to eat two to three times a week. We have favorite restaurants that we go to and since we have young kids we like to frequent places that don’t have long waits to be seated.

So, what do you get when you combine steak and technology – how about Mobile Pay, no waiting, saving money and getting your steak faster!
Did you know there is a new mobile app for Outback Steakhouse? And just like their steak, it is excellent.
Once I downloaded the Outback app from my App Store, the first thing I did was look around. I found that I kept going back to look at the menu – I guess I was hungry! The menu lets you select from Lunch, Dinner, Happy Hour and Bar. Under each section you get more choices to choose from. For example, Dinner includes Starters, Steaks, Entrees, Desserts and the Joey Menu (for your little kangaroos!).
The menu is customized to your location and what I love about the menu section is that all of the items have a description and cost of the item. A lot of the items have a mouth-watering picture too! There are still some items that are missing pictures, like some desserts, Joey Menu items and drinks, but I believe those are constantly being updated. The pictures show you what you will be served, which is nice, because you don’t get to see a picture of all the items in the real physical menu, but on the Outback Steakhouse app, there are more opportunities to see what you are about to order – or to plan ahead what you want to order.
The first option in the app is to Plan Your Visit. This lets you use your location or enter a zip code or city and the app will show the locations near you. All the location show if there is a current wait time or not. Either way, you can select your preferred time and you will be able to be seated pretty much immediately when you arrive at that time. We used the app last Saturday at 6:15, we entered the restaurant and were seated right away. We had a VIP experience because others were waiting and the hostess said there was a 15-20 minute wait, but not for us because we use the app to reserve our spot.
The last main feature of the app is the ability to use mobile payment to pay your bill. Simply select Pay Bill and you are asked to enter your payment code. Ours was a 6 digit code right on the receipt. I spoke with our waitress about this option and she loved it, she simply asked us to let her know if we used that option so she would be able to confirm everything was done properly. 2 nice features about the mobile payment option are that you can split the check with another app holder, which is nice for larger groups. You are also able to easily add a tip to the payment, so you can take care of everything right on your phone. No more giving your card to the server, just use your phone!
The last thing that the Outback app offers is exclusive coupons and offers. These coupons are saved in your app and can be applied directly to your bill, so no more paper coupons!
Technology can make things easy, I just never realized how much you can appreciate making eating delicious steak even easier! Download the Outback app from the iTunes store – it’s free and will improve your next Outback Experience!
