The Komen 3 Day for the Cure is taking place in 4 days! I’m excited because I was selected by Energizer to be their Keep Going Blogger for the Cleveland 3 Day and I’m sharing my experience preparing for, training for, and walking in the 3 Day.
It won’t be long before I’ll be walking, tweeting, & blogging (not all at the same time, of course!) at the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure here in Cleveland.
Since being selected by Energizer as the Keep Going Blogger for Cleveland, the last 7 weeks have flown. Training has gone really well and as the walks have gotten longer, the event date has drawn closer. I’m really excited for it to finally be here!
I can’t wait to finally meet some of the walkers and crew members I’ve only interacted with online. I’m also thrilled to have the opportunity to meet the thousands of other 3-Day for the Cure participants and to share some of their stories with you.
I’m really looking forward to seeing the neighborhood residents as well as the families and friends of walkers out in force to cheer us on. I’ve heard it’s heartwarming and touching to see the incredible turnout of these wonderful supporters. Whether it’s at the Cheering Stations or through chalk drawings or offers of lemonade outside their homes, each action is a show of support which helps us walkers persevere.
If you want to show your support for those of us walking in the Cleveland 3-Day for the Cure and we are walking by your house (you would have received a flier to notify you of our passing by) please feel free to come outside and cheer us on.
Here are a few additional suggestions you can do which we walkers will love:
- Display signs or decorations. Think pink!
- Feel free to turn on your sprinklers or squirt us with hoses or spray bottles to help us cool down.
- Play some fun and upbeat music.
- Get creative!
We walkers are grateful for any support you can show and it really helps keep us motivated and inspired to Keep Going!
If the walking route does not travel through your neighborhood, we would love to have you at the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and Cheering Stations which are all open to the public.
