Kora and Logan love to swim. They’ve also been to a few waterparks and they had a blast.
That’s why we were excited recently to be provided accommodations, meals, park passes, gift cards, and welcome bag for a stay at Kalahari Resorts.
It was perfect timing because Kora’s birthday was Monday so it was a fun way to celebrate!
When we arrived we were immediately blown away by the size and beauty of our room. We had adjoining rooms and one had a living room, fireplace, dining room, full kitchen, full size refrigerator, whirlpool tub, and king size bed. The other room had two double beds, a mini-fridge and microwave. It was amazing and one of the nicest rooms we’ve ever stayed in.
We enjoyed the large balcony and seeing the Outdoor Waterpark and the Safari Outdoor Adventure Park too. It looks like so much fun that we can’t wait to come back this summer to check it out. At the animal park guests can assist in the car e of animals, help prepare diets, feed them, assist in cleaning, and interact with the animals too. There’s also a Sky Trail Explorer Ropes Course with three levels and 48 elements spanning 750 feet. The Zip Line Tour is for all ages and soars 60 feet in the air and there are 32 foot Adventure Climbing Walls. Doesn’t that sound fun?!
We loved the room but were excited to head down to America’s Largest Indoor Waterpark to get swimming. There was so much to do. Right off the bat Kora and Logan were excited to see how tall were and what rides they could go on and what areas they could play in.
Then it was off to swim. They’re immediate favorite was the 12,000 square foot wave pool. About every 15 minutes or so the waves would start and to hear them laugh with excitement and to see their smiles while they swam and jumped in the waves was so fun.
As part of the Kalahari Blogger Kamp Out we were treated to a demo of the FlowRider where 50,000 gallons of water flow upwards each minute creating a 5-foot ocean-like wave. It was amazing to watch the guards bodyboarding and surfing. Some family members of the bloggers even got to try it out themselves. So fun!
There were so many places to play, swim, and ride in the waterpark. There was a Basketball Pool, Crocodile Cove, the Zip Coaster, Cheetah Race, Tanzanian Twister, Swahili Swirl, Kids Safari interactive play area, a lazy river, indoor & outdoor hot tubs, and more. We also enjoyed a cabana with tv, comfortable chairs, and a place to relax between swims. The Texlon transparent roof was amazing and allowed us to enjoy the sun’s rays whenever it made an appearance.
Whenever we needed a break from swimming we spent time in the Big Game Arcade Room. It’s one of the largest arcades in Ohio. Kora & Logan were so excited to get the chance to try their hands at Savannah Strike Zone Bowling and Madagascar Black Light Mini-Golf. They also had fun playing air hockey, claw games, and Doodle Jump (which was so fun, Dave & I couldn’t resist playing too!).
We had a fantastic time at Kalahari Resorts and can’t wait to come back. While we are excited to visit this summer to check out the outdoor activities, visiting this time of year was fun and festive. We loved seeing the resort so beautifully decorated for the holidays. Kora and Logan even had a chance to see Santa and listen to a bedtime story read by Mrs. Claus.
It was a wonderful weekend and we’d recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful family getaway.
What a fantastic place to visit! The waterpark looks amazing and so much fun!
Gosh I would like to go there . I would be embarassed to be in a swimsuit maybe but I would get over that and have alot of fun!
It’s going to be end of mine day, but before finish I am reading this
impressive paragraph to improve my knowledge.
That looks like a fun trip!
Wow! Everything looks amazing! It would be hard to decide what to do first!
It has been years since going to Kalahari. The changes are amazing. We love waterparks.
OMG…I thought Ohio had just an awesome Jack Hanna zoo. That is so cool. I would be too scared to,go,down that slide, but love to learn to surf. Forget the kids, I want to go. Plus I love that you can play all day and don’t have to worry about getting too much sun and constantly re-applying sunscreen.
Loved this review! Sounds like a great place!
looks beautiful
this looks like so much fun! I need a vacation since I can’t remember the last one I had – years and years ago.
I really enjoyed all of the tweets and photos sharing while you were there. I wish I could have made this trip. It all looks and sounds like so much fun.
This looks like lots of fun!
excited to go with kids and their friends in 4 weeks
My sister has been twice and both time kids had ear aces after going.
My family would love to go here.
We go to a waterpark for Christmas as our big family ‘gift’. Hoping to try Kalahari one year – great pictures
What a fun place for kids… and easy on parents since there’s a nice kitchen and the rooms are so large. Win, Win!
A fireplace in your room? Yes please!
You review makes me wish we lived closer to the resort. My grandkids would have a wonderful time there.
Wow, you really snapped some great pictures. Love the wave pool with the sloping beach entry. I’m looking forward to visiting the Kalahari in Wisconsin Dells sometime (not as big, but closer to where I live).
What a cool place. So much to do and see, I want to go!
oh my gosh, that place looks so cool… given how long the winters are in Maine, and the fact that the kids and grandkids can’t wait to go swimming, this would be a way to keep them from going nuts until the summer comes. So wish I was closer!
This looks like a great place for a family vacation. Tons of things to do to keep the kids busy and the parents will be able to enjoy themselves also. Great place to celebrate a birthday!
Looks like a lot of fun, and wonderful memories. For that, you are blessed!
From your pictures, looks like you had an amazing time! I wish I could visit all these neat places that you have been staying at. Looks like FUN!
I LOVED all of your instagram photos of your trip. It looks like you had a blast! This is the kind of place we’d love to be able to visit during the winter months. Thanks for sharing!
That looks like so much fun! I wish we had a place like this close- we have a small indoor park but NOTHING like this and it’s not very clean.
PS I love your daughters suit!
That is one big resort with lots of fun things to do even if you go without the kids!! I would love to be in that wave pool-never tried one but want to!! And the room looked really comfortable.
This resort is so much fun, it has everything for everyone in the family, love it.
That place looks awesome and really cozy, almost like vacationing at home.
This looks like so much fun! What an awesome birthday :)
We LOVE Kalahari! We went back in May (right around one of our boys’ birthdays, which worked great for us too!) Your room looks a lot like ours, not the exact same, but almost! :)
Oh my goodness – what an amazing place! That indoor waterpark looks like it was a blast! I love ziplining – I bet that would be a fun course to try!

Looks like a great time! I need to put this on my must visit list!
We would love to go here. We LOVE Splash Universe- and this place looks like a lot of fun,

Where is this located in OH? That would be fun to stay at for a couple nights when we visit family in Pittsburgh.

Looks like a great place for a vacation!
Wow, that place is AMAZING! Seriously it is so cool! And that’s not a hotel room; that is pure luxury sleeping there! Definitely a place I want to go if we ever get to that part of the country.
My kids want to go to Kalahari so bad! My eldest has been and we just haven’t gotten around to going as a family. Thanks for this great review.
