Obviously our family loves everything tech related, so it’s no big shock that we consider Best Buy to be our own personal family fun house! As a Best Buy Blogger I wanted to share some exciting news with you. 2 of my favorite companies have teamed up to create a new and interactive learning experience at some select Best Buy stores. Intel has invaded Best Buy and they have teamed up to form the Intel Experience.
50 special stores across the nation have the Intel Experience available, in northeast Ohio we have one located at the Chapel Hill Best Buy in Cuyahoga Falls. I was most impressed with how immersive the experience can be when you decide to stick around a while and really check things out.
Intel conducted a study that says 79% of Americans are excited to learn and try out new technology, but half of them are frustrated by the lack of access to them beyond what they read and see in the media. Well if you are looking for an opportunity to get some hands on experience with your devices before you buy, the Intel Experience is something that you will love.
The Intel Experience area is about 240 square feet, but it is an impressive 240 square feet! I was shocked at all there is to do in the area. I am enthralled with 3D printing, so the first thing I noticed was the 3D printer and the laptop set up right next to it. You are able to hop on the laptop and customize your own Intel robot, and you can print it as well. You get to choose colors and designs and then see it come to life right in front of you. This is amazing, I am going to have to come back with Kora and Logan because they will be amazed watching their creations come to life right in front of them thanks to the 3D printing ability in the Intel Experience.
Another really cool treat at the Intel Experience is having the opportunity to “Get in the Mix with Ne-Yo” and be a digital DJ and help put on a light show in a performance by Ne-Yo. This area is huge, you are in front of 2 big screen TVs and there are 2 Intel 2 in 1’s available to make you feel like you are part of the show in this area. The great thing about the Intel 2 in 1’s is shown here, one is laying down and used as a tablet where you can put on a light show during Ne-Yo’s concert using laser lights, spotlights, strobe lights and more. As you move to the next 2 in 1 which is set up like a laptop, you are able to use your DJ skills as you remix some of Ne-Yo’s tracks.
There is so much to do in the Intel Experience, one other fun area lets you race on Mars. The game is Mars Escape and you use the camera on your tablet to show the rough Mars terrain on the mountain that is in the middle of the Intel Experience. The game combines the real life game display with a digital space rover and of course enemy ships that drop bombs on you – these bombs look real, but I promise they are digital too.
In addition to all these interactive activities you can experience and use about 5 other Intel devices, ranging from 8” tablets to 20+” portable PCs. There is a specially trained employee on site to answer your questions and to tell you all about Intel and their products, as well as helping you build your own Intel robot!
You have to get involved in the Intel Experience and see it for yourself. This is a great way to take a potential Christmas gift (for a loved one, or maybe yourself) on a test drive. Go to the site and find a store near you that offers this amazing adventure.
