After what’s been an unusually warm winter, it seems a big storm is headed our way. I heard they are grounding planes in Chicago and Cleveland Hopkins has started cancelling flights as well. It’s predicted to be a bit of a mess in the morning, but I sure hope it doesn’t end up looking like the ice storm pictures below when we wake up tomorrow!
These first few pictures were taken in Lake Geneva in Switzerland by Jean-Pierre Scherrer. Aren’t they incredible?!
I can’t even imagine seeing this or how long it took for it all to melt!
Here’s a few of our own ice storm pictures from outside our living room window over the past couple of years.
I’m getting my cozy blankets and hot chocolate ready!
What about you? How is your weather?
Those are some amazing pictures and so hard to contemplate in the middle of summer (now)! I’m loving the Posts from the Past Section!
The pictures are incredible. I love the trees in the winter when they get all sparkly. I got a picture of an icicle last year that almost reached the ground. I was hoping that the warm unusual winter would continue for a while. But, it sure is pretty when the snow and ice are here.
I’m just head-over-heels in love with this Cleveland winter so far! Luckily, the roads here were fine to drive on this morning. We were able to get some errands done… and come home to do some sledding in the back yard. :)
Wow that’s just crazy you would literally be stuck at home. I can’t imagine even cleaning that off what do they take blow torches to their car?! Without breaking the windows
Wow, those are amazing pictures!
Just left a comment that says Rachel at mangedmoms.com….meant to say managedmoms.com! Silly me! Have a great weekend everyone!
No thanks to those pictures! I think I’ll stay here in my home…warm and sunny Phoenix, Arizona where the temp was 68 degrees yesterday. Love it! I am a winter wimp and wouldn’t survive anywhere else!
But do enjoy being cozy with hot cocoa…that is what I would do!
I opened this thinking to see pics in your area and brag how Lakewood is not like… Switzerland lol
Wow! I have been in my share of ice storms but nothing like those in Switzerland. That is just craziness. They look like ice sculptures.
WE were at 80 degrees yesterday. No kidding. It’s ridiculous that we are having 80 degree weather in January!
Oh my gosh, that’s absolutely crazy!
