As the guy whose family serves ham for dessert at Christmas Eve dinner, you can easily see how I don’t get all the hype about Thanksgiving Day turkey dinner. Don’t get me wrong, turkey – prepared the right way – can be delicious, but ham is like pizza, “it’s always good, just sometimes are better than others.”
This post is sponsored by Honeybaked Ham and food was provided.
That’s why I’m excited about HoneyBaked Ham foods for your Thanksgiving feast. We visited the Rocky River, OH store and picked up some items for our pre-Thanksgiving meal trial run.
Most people, for obvious reasons, automatically think of ham when you say HoneyBaked Ham, but we had a chance to try out their turkey breast, and we were very impressed. The turkey breast there comes is 2 sizes, I call them huge and ridiculously huge, but they call them whole and half turkey breasts. Everyone was amazed at how moist and delicious the pre-sliced turkey breasts were, and my favorite part was that they use the same magical glaze they use on their ham for their turkey breast! It’s heavenly.
HoneyBaked Ham has your main course taken care of with turkey and ham, they also have some incredible Heat & Share sides. I have tried a couple in the past, but this time we tried the Sweet Potato Soufflé which is encrusted with a streusel topping. Tésa is the sweet potato expert in our family, and I can normally take it or leave it, but these are delicious, I can see why she likes them so much now. Our other appetizer we tried was the traditional Thanksgiving side Herb Stuffing, with a combination of sautéed vegetables, toasted bread crumbs and savory spices and herbs, it tasted just like mom’s stuffing.
Of course, just when you have stuffed yourself at Thanksgiving, you have to start thinking about dessert. HoneyBaked Ham offers 2 traditional dishes; a Cheesecake Sampler consisting of Triple Chocolate, Turtle, Rasberry, and Creamy, as well as My Grandma’s Cinnamon Coffee Cake, they also have multiple holiday pies available as well. We went with the coffee cake and were thrilled that we did. In our household, it would be blasphemy to say it competed with Grandma’s coffee cake, so let’s just say it was a very close second! It was a great combination of crunchy and moist, and the kids loved it too.
Our pre-Thanksgiving dinner was a blast and I left nearly as full as if was really Thanksgiving dinner, I even had some Thursday Night Football to help recreate the experience afterwards! This Thanksgiving let HoneyBaked Ham do the cooking for you. It’s hard enough to clean and prepare for family coming over. I like to think of it like this . . . pick up HoneyBaked Ham’s turkey, ham and sides and you are all set, all that’s left to do is add family and you can have a perfect Thanksgiving Day.

Great holiday giveaway. Fingers crossed!
Wow! This is an amazing giveaway to host by yourself, thanks! I agree with you on the ham vs turkey but I like to make homemade gravy so I need the turkey drippings otherwise I would just serve ham.
Wow, it looks delicious and your table setting is so festive! Looks like Thanksgiving to me!
