As a mom, one of the primary things I want to teach Kora & Logan is the importance of giving back. Two years ago we volunteered at Toys for Tots to help sort toys. It was an amazing experience and one that Kora & Logan talk about all the time.
This post is sponsored by Kelloggs and they sent sent prize packs
We wanted to do it again last year but after moving we were too late to volunteer. The good news is it looks like we will be able to volunteer again this year, I’m just waiting for the email to let me know the available dates and times.
We were all greatly impacted by our time sorting toys. We were impressed with all the toys that were donated and then minutes later saddened to learn that each needy child would only get one toy. That has stuck with me and whenever I get a chance I give back to Toys For Tots.
This holiday season you can help give back to Toys for Tots too simply by making a Rice Krispies treat for your family, sharing the photo on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram using the #Treats4Toys hashtag and Kellogg will donate $10 to Toys for Tots up to $50,000!
Kora and Logan helped me make a batch of holiday Rice Krispies treats complete with red and green sprinkles.
I was excited to share it with the hashtag to trigger the donation.

We had fun making the Rice Krispies treats and putting a holiday spin on them. I used the original recipe from the Rice Krispies website and just added sprinkles.
Here’s the recipe:
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp butter
- 4 cups Jet-Puff Minature Marshmallows
- 6 cups Kelloggs Rice Krispies cereal
- 3 tbsp sprinkles
Directions
- In a large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted.
- Remove from heat
- Add Kelloggs Rice Krispies cereal. Stir until well coated. Add half of the sprinkles
- Using a buttered spatula or wax paper, evenly press mixture into 13 X 9 pan coated with cooking spray. Top with rest of the sprinkles.
- Cool. Cut into 2-inch squares.
You can also visit RiceKrispies.com to find new Rice Krispies treats recipes and decoration ideas. I encourage you to make some Rice Krispies treats and share your photo on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram using the hashtag #Treats4Toys so Kellogg’s can make that $10 donation to Toys for Tots.
It’s and easy, fun, festive, and delicious way to give back!
