Make & Receive Calls From Only 5 Numbers

Once your FiLIP 2 arrives you download the smartphone app and then within the app you enter 5 phones numbers that the FiLIP 2 can call and receive calls from. These are the only numbers that work with the FiLIP 2. I like how easy it is for kids to call. They simply push a button, scroll through the five contacts, select who they want to call then push the red button and the call is made. If you want to call your child, you open the app, select the child, and the FiLIP 2 will ring. You can also set it up so a child can call another child like a sibling, who also has a FiLIP 2.

Locate Your Child Through GPS, GSM, & WiFi

The FiLIP 2 has combined GPS, GSM, and WiFi all on one chip and they have a proprietary algorithm that determines which to use for the strongest signal. For example, if GPS isn’t working well inside a building, it will use WiFi and cellular capability to provide location information. Using the app you can see your child’s location on the map at any time.

Easily Initiate Emergency Mode

In case of an emergency children can press the red button on their FiLIP 2 for 3 seconds to initiate the Emergency Mode. In this mode, first a call is made to the primary account holder, if there is no answer it will then go through the list calling each emergency contact until one successfully connects. Once connected it starts recording the call and background noises. It will also show you an immediate update of your child’s location with automatic updates every 60 seconds until the emergency mode is cancelled.

Set Up SafeZones

Parents can set up to 5 SafeZones. Each SafeZone is a virtual radius around a location such as home or school. When this is set, parents will receive notifications on their smartphone when the child has entered or left a SafeZone.

One Way Text Messaging

The FiLIP 2 can receive text messages only from the parent’s app. Messages are short at only 24 characters long but you can text a short note like, “Dinner’s ready!” This allows you to stay connected without calling.

As you can see there are many great features of the FiLIP 2. Kids will also like that it is a watch that tells the time and date too. Parents will appreciate that it has optional size spacers which allow it to adjust as the child grows.
