I remember just a couple of years ago seeing all these “strange things” around people’s necks. Sometimes they even had earbuds coming out of them! Well, now it is very common to see someone with a neckband and jammin’ to tunes or their favorite podcast.

First, what is a neckband? It is a “U” shaped wireless, Bluetooth device that rests around your neck. They are very common now for people to use while they work out, walk, or even do work around the house.

Lucid Audio has come up with their AMPED technology and applied it to a number of their devices. It gives you options, that’s why I love it. You are able to wear your neckband with the earbuds in, and customize your experience. AMPED allows you to decide how much “outside” sound you want to hear.
Imagine you are biking and you want to listen to your favorite podcast. Safety is a concern with headphones on, so with AMPED, you can customize how much outside noise you want to let in. These headphones give you the option to amplify outside ambient noise. You can choose to block out everything, or amplify the outside noise 9x’s so you can be fully aware of your surroundings.
The other example of how the customized AMPED experience works for me is one you may be familiar with. First, we have kids, kids can be loud. As a work at home dad, I like to put my headphones on and block out all the exterior noise from the loud kids! However, let’s say I am home alone with the kids, I can let in the ambient noise and make sure I am aware of what is going on. That’s my favorite thing about the AMPED Bluetooth Neckband, it gives you options! Options are what make the best neckband work great for you.

I was able to get thru nearly an entire workday, in my experience the battery lasted closer to 7-8 of normal use. I am sure I had mine on all day though, where “normal” use would generally involve having them on and off.
In conclusion, the AMPED feature is absolutely my favorite, blocking out or letting in the background noise is a great customization option. I would easily switch back and forth, depending what I was doing.
