I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of T.J.Maxx and Marshalls and received a gift card to facilitate my review and thank me for taking the time to participate.
According to a recent Mom Central/T.J. Maxx and Marshalls survey of nearly 1000 moms, almost half of them (43%) believe that name value or prices are the most important factor in in back to school shopping. The second highest factor was quality (40%) and 81% of moms said that rising costs of items will negatively affect their family’s back-to-school budget this year.
I have to agree with everything in this survey and fall along the same lines. While I love back-to-school shopping, money was tight this year and I thought it might be more difficult than usual to stay in our budget.
However, I was pleased with my treasure hunting finds on a recent trip to T.J. Maxx. I found the children’s racks full of low priced name brand merchandise. As I browsed through the clothing, I noticed items from Carter’s, Gap, Crazy 8, Justice, Nike, Addidas, and much more.
I was excited to find a nice Ohio State hooded sweatshirt by Nike for Logan. It was originally $30, but the T.J. Maxx price was only $14.99. I found a warm cable-knit sweater for Kora to go with her school uniform for only $14.99. I also found her two shirts from Carter’s both priced at $6.99!
I think it was great haul and the kids look so cute and ready for back-to-school.
Kora loves dancing, ballet, and the color pink. So as soon as I saw the dancing girl shirt, I knew she’d love it. And while I’ve mentioned before that Kora has a uniform for school, they have spirit days where they can wear theme clothing. I thought the cat shirt would be perfect for their Halloween day!
Logan loves hooded sweatshirts and football, so I knew the Ohio State sweatshirt would be a quick favorite for him. As soon as he put it on, he commented on how comfy and cozy it was and even though he had shorts on that day he left the sweatshirt on for quite awhile after.
I’m pleased because it being made by Nike, I know it will last through everything he puts it through and still look great. On top of that I paid a fraction of the orginal price for it!
And Kora’s school sweater will keep her warm in the cold winter months ahead. It’s also heavy weight and high quality and I know it will make it through the school year and still look nice come Spring.
I was so happy with my back-to-school finds and I’m glad the kids are too. I recommend T.J. Maxx and Marshall’s to anyone shopping for kids clothes or other back-to-school items. The stores not only have a great selection of brand name clothing but also backpacks, lunch boxes, and other school supplies.
