Thank you to The Mall at Partridge Creek sending us on a back to school shopping spree & giving us a gift card for food & one to giveaway as well. The honest opinions are our own.
It’s that time of year – back to school shopping season! Around the country kids all over have already started school but here in Michigan, we don’t start until after Labor Day. It’s glorious! We get to fully enjoy summer and are thankful for every bright, beautiful, sunny day we have left.
Even so we do have to do some back to school shopping. Kora & Logan just keep growing! That’s why I was excited recently to get the chance to go on a shopping spree with the kids at The Mall at Partridge Creek!
We also learned a lot about the shopping center.
Did you know that The Mall at Partridge Creek is dog friendly? Being an outdoor mall, you would think so, but they take it a step further. Many stores put out bowls of water for pups and if you see this friendly dog sticker on the window, dogs are actually allowed in the store!
We saw so many different kinds of dogs and we are dog lovers, so we enjoyed every single one – it was like a giant dog parade! There were big dogs, little dogs, and dogs in between.
There are even a number of cute statues around the mall.
And they offer dog comfort stations, where you can get doggie bags etc.
We also learned that The Mall at Partridge Creek just started the Oh, So Simple Rewards program and it sounds fantastic! The tagline is, “The easy way to make shopping pay.” When you sign up for the program you’ll start earning cash back on your purchases, receive special program offers, and more. You can even earn $10 when you spend $250!
To join simply visit the Simple Reward website and create an account. You can then connect a credit or debit card to the rewards account and start enjoying the benefits right away. Once you’ve scored a reward, that money is automatically credited back to your registered card statement right after your next purchase anywhere at The Mall at Partridge Creek.
You can also visit the customer service area at the mall to sign up while you are there.
We spent the morning and afternoon shopping for back to school clothes and visited a number of retailers:
We visited:
- Carson’s
- Gap Kids
- Janie & Jack
- LL Bean
- Nordstrom
- ..and more
The kids did great and found a number of things for school.
They are both into sports and love anything by Under Armor so they were thrilled to find these shirts.
Logan loves shirts that make people laugh and this shirt from Carson’s is sure to get a number of smiles this school year and Kora likes bright colors so this shirt also from Carson’s fit the bill.
Kora found an adorable top at Gap Kids for a great price and some shorts too and Logan found another funny shirt there as well – he loves to sleep in so this shirt fits him perfectly!
Kora also runs a bit cold in the fall and winter so we were excited to find a great price on this adorable Columbia jacket. Even though it’s 80 degrees right now, she keeps saying she can’t believe how cozy and fuzzy it its.
While at The Mall at Partridge Creek we also stopped for food. We all enjoy Auntie Anne’s so that was a required visit.
And we couldn’t pass up Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory – yum!
While there, I was interested to learn that the LL Bean store had just opened up and in fact for opening day, they had people start lining up at the door at 5:30 in the morning! Did you know it’s the only LL Bean store in Michigan?
I was fascinated to learn that and can understand why everyone was so excited!
We were also excited to see the Henry Ford Macomb Hospitals Children’s Play Park for little kids. It was newly redesigned with a fruits and vegetable theme and is very cute! The material that the climbing pieces are made out of is not slippery so kids won’t fall, and it doesn’t get hot. Brilliant!
The pop jet fountain fantastic too. It’s a great way for kids and families to cool off on hot days and it looks like a piece of art as well.
And did you know on cold days the sidewalks are heated to help melt snow? Such a great idea! I need that at home.
I was also impressed to learn about the First State Bank Summer Sounds Concert Series they offer. It’s live entertainment every Thursday – Monday with a wide variety of performers each evening. It’s free and a wonderful way to spend a summer evening.
There are also many exciting things coming to The Mall at Partridge Creek including the addition of Cabin at the Creek. It will be a park-style, multi-purpose cabin that will be the setting for photos with Santa as well as other holiday themed activities including Valentine’s Day, Easter, Halloween , and more.
The MJR Digital Cinema 14 at the mall is remodeling as well to add VIP electric recliners with reserved seating and an updated concessions stand, and more.
And on August 27th, the mall is having a Back To School Kick-Off Event from 12 pm – 2 pm. There will be live dance performances, a fashion show presented by Carson’s, prizes, and more. It looks like lots of fun and a great way to start the school year!
We had a fantastic time back to school shopping at The Mall at Partridge Creek and are looking forward to going back often. Their holiday displays sound amazing and with the 30-foot fireplace in Center Court, free wifi, a TV court, and so many shops and restaurants, there is truly something for everyone!

Hard to pick just one favorite, but we love Gap Kids!
We love Gap! I’ve only been to this mall once but I loved it.
I love the Brighton store! I have quite a few items from them. I also love the bath bombs from Lush and looking at all of the beautiful cards and stationery inside of Papyrus. One wonderful thing about The Mall at Partridge Creek is heated sidewalks in the winter!
My favorite is the Apple Store and AuntieAnne’s
My favorite stores to visit at just about any mall is this one; Bath & Body Works

I haven’t been to Partridge Creek in a while, but sometimes I go to the MJR there. They have a lot of really good clothing stores too.
I have not started our back to school shopping.

I like that they have free Wifi and based on the directory, I like Gap.
My favorite store is Papyrus. I can spend hours looking for the perfect birthday card.
I haven’t been to Partridge Creek, but I remember it going in! I think I’d like to shop at Clarks (I like their shoes) and it’d be great to see a movie at the MJR Digital Cinemas! :-)
