This is one of my favorite times of year – the holiday season. Not only is it a wonderful time to spend with family and friends, to enjoy good food, and beautiful decorations, but it’s also a heartwarming time of year filled with opportunities to give back and help others. In the past, our family has volunteered to sort toys for Toys for Tots. It’s one of our favorite holiday traditions and it’s means a lot to us and to Kora and Logan too.

That’s why I’m excited to share about how easy Amazon is making it to give a toy to a child in need this holiday season. Customers can now donate a toy to Toys for Tots via Alexa by simply saying:
“Alexa, donate to Toys for Tots”
Amazon will even be matching customer donations throughout the end of the year – toy for toy – doubling customers contributions and #DeliveringSmiles!
Here are the details:
Simply say “Alexa, donate to Toys for Tots” and you will be presented with a reasonably priced item appropriate for kids across a wide range of ages directly from the Toys for Tots Charity List. After you confirm the order, Amazon will ship the toy directly to Toys for Tots making it easy to donate.
This is an incredibly simply way to brighten a child’s holiday season this year.
I was interested to learn that this is the first time customers have been able to donate an item to a charity using Alexa and your donation is tax deductible. Also, Toys for Tots has assembled their Charity List with items like Mickey and Minnie Plush toys, Nerf footballs, Monopoly games and more.
On top of that, Alexa provides you with tracking and delivery updates and will let you know when the gift arrives safely. You can either ask, “Alexa, where’s my stuff?” to find out the delivery status of your gift or sign up for Alexa Shopping Notifications so Alexa can let you know when your order is delivered.
Other ways to give back this holiday season:
- You are also able to make a monetary donation to a charity of your choice outside of Toys for Tots by simply saying “Alexa, I want to make a donation” to get started.
- New this holiday season you can shop Charity Lists on Amazon and donate an item to your favorite charity. Charity Lists is a new feature that provides non-profits an easy way to create lists and provides customers a simple way to donate needed items to the charity of your choice.
- Amazon Smile is a way to support your favorite charity every time you shop with Amazon, at no extra cost

We love giving back during the holidays and being a tech loving family, I’m really excited about the ability to donate to Toys for Tots with Alexa. Toys for Tots means a lot to us and this warms my heart to think of how simple it is to give to this wonderful organization and how happy this will make so many children this year.
