ZEVIA Soda – Review

ZEVIA is a new soda on the market that boasts it is made with only the purest ingredients because it contains no chemically processed artificial sugar substitutes.

I wondered how they did this but the answer was simple, they sweeten the soda with the natural sweetness of the Stevia plant. The soda also is advertised as having no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives found in other soda and it has zero calories, zero fat, and little sodium.

ZEVIA comes in many different flavors including Black Cherry, Cola, Caffeine Free Cola, Cream Soda, Dr. Zevia, Ginger Ale, Ginger Root Beer, Grape, Orange, Grapefruit Citrus, Lemon Lime Twist, Mountain Zevia, and Orange. We tried the Grape, Mountain Zevia, Cola, and Grapefruit Citrus flavored ZEVIA with dinner as a treat.

We each had our favorite. Grant, his friend Jess, and I love sour flavors so we both agreed we liked the Grapefruit Citrus best! It was a more healthy version of Squirt that we already like.

Tired Dad Andy’s favorite was Grape. I liked the Grape as well and was surprised to see that it was actually a clear colorless soda! . Avery liked the Mountain Zevia best- and like the name may infer- it tastes similar to Mountain Dew.

I have to admit that the Cola ZEVIA (which for the recard was brown in color) was not our favorite. Although it tasted good, it had a bitter different aftertaste to it. We are not huge soda drinkers at our house, and if we drink soda we usually drink a flavored soda instead of a general cola so this might be why it tasted different to us.

The ZEVIA was a nice treat with dinner and it was fun to taste test! I didn’t feel as guilty serving soda with a meal since it was a “healthier” version! If you log onto the ZEVIA website you can not only locate the nearest retailer selling ZEVIA, but also get a $2 off coupon! I would love to try their cream soda next! If you’re looking to save a few calories, eat a little bit more health conscious, or looking for regular soda alternative, ZEVIA would be a refreshing change!
