Where Did Summer Vacation Go?

The other day I went shopping and was amazed to see back-to-school displays being assembled at the stores. That was two weeks ago. It’s nearly the end of the July and every store I go to now all I see are backpacks, lunchboxes, notebooks, folders, pens…

I don’t want to think about back-to-school just yet. Even though August is only days away, we are still trying to get more out of summer vacation.

We’ve had a fantastic summer and we’ve really done our best to get the most out of it and to spend as much time together as possible. Not only with our family but with extended family as well.

We took a trip to Charleston, S.C. where we had an extended family reunion. It was a road trip so instead of trying to arrive as soon as possible and exhausted we thought it would be best to stop over in Winston-Salem, N.C. at the Embassy Suites there.

Embassy Suites King Bed It was the right choice because it allowed us to get a good night’s rest and to fill up on a delicious breakfast before we hit the road again.

Embassy Suites Breakfast The stay itself was truly the beginning of our vacation allowing us to get more out it. We enjoyed our stay at the Embassy Suites so much, that when we are in the area again we would love to stay there. We also were so impressed and had such an enjoyable stay that the next time we travel we will make sure to check if an Embassy Suites is in the area.

Even though school is starting soon, there’s still time to plan an end of summer getaway. If you can’t go far, make a staycation out of it at a local Embassy Suites where they offer two room suites, complimentary cooked to order breakfast, and a nightlymanager’s reception with complimentary appetizers and beverages. The thing that matters, I’ve found, is spending time together and making long-lasting family memories. A summer getaway can provide just that.

Seabrook Island Starfish Here are a few tips from Dr. Susan Biali who has partnered with Embassy Suites to offer tips on how to “more-imize” your vacation.

Vacation Tips

Those are great tips and especially love the “travel the night before” tip. Waking up on vacation is one of the greatest feelings. Nowhere to drive, no airports to rush through, no last-minute packing. Just slip on the sandals and flip-flops and go.

Don’t forget to enter the Embassy Suites 366 Days of More Sweepstakes where you can win two free nights, one for you and one for a friend. How fun is that?!

To learn more about how to “more-imize” your vacation:

What about you? How has your summer vacation been? Were you able to get away?

I wrote this review while participating in an Ambassador Program by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Embassy Suites Hotels and received a one-night complimentary stay at an Embassy Suites Hotel to facilitate my reviews and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
