What I’ll Miss Most About the Malibu

Well, our time with the Chevy Malibu is almost up. While I loved lots of things about the car, I think I may miss all of the music features the most.

We’ve been so spoiled with the XM Radio in the Malibu. I have loved being able to scroll through hundreds of stations and listening to all kinds of music and talk shows and Tired Dad Dave will miss the endless number sports stations. I don’t know how we’ll ever go back to just 2  screens for our favorite stations, when we’ve had 6 screens with 6 stations on each for nearly a month. And no more 90s on 9? Sigh. The drive for every day errands just won’t be the same.

The other music feature I’ll miss most is the radio controls in the steering wheel. I didn’t start using them until about two weeks ago and when I did, I was sorry it took me so long. I became addicted to them quickly and now enjoy them so much, I’m making them a requirement in the next new car we get! It just makes  sense to be able to operate the radio without taking your hands off the steering wheel and makes driving feel so much safer.

Another aspect we’ve enjoyed is the iPod port in the radio console. There are two ports actually depending what type of iPod or mp3 player you have. One port even allows you to connect a traditional jump drive and if there’s music on it it will find it and play it. So you don’t even need an iPod or mp3 player specifically to listen to your own play list. How neat is that?!

I made a quick video demonstrating some of these wonderful music features. It’s only a minute or so long, but it’s pretty informative and really showcases music in the Malibu.
