Tired Mom Tésa: “Ugh, the lawn needs to be mowed and Tired Dad Dave should fertilize.”
Tired Dad Dave: “Sigh. I should mow the lawn and fertilize to get rid of all those dandelions.”
Kora & Logan: “Mommy! Daddy! Come quick! Look at all the beautiful flowers in our yard!”
“It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.” – Henry David Thoreau

I let my kids enjoy the purty weeds at the park. We don’t want em here, LOL
You know, that’s SO true. I always saw those as SO pretty until I got older and now I’m always told those are evil…they just spread and make more weeds. I still think they add a little charm to an all green lawn, though!
Oh, so true. We have “wish flowers” all over our neighborhood. I keep thinking they need to mow, but Izzy sees a lawn full of “wishes.”
We all need to think more like kids sometimes!
I saw green growing. So long as things are green on our front yard I am happy. The weeds and things all blend in and life is good.
Hey! Just looking for new blogs! NIce to meet you! Cute blog.
Hope you will come visit my mommy blog!
I have some great giveaways going on too!
I like the kids’ perspective because it means no work for you or Tired Dad!
First thing I thought of was “oh, pretty wild flowers” and then I thought… “glad my lawn is cut.” Hehe. But seriously, I do love wild flowers and sometimes wish I could cover the lawn with flowers rather than grass!
I think I am following your blog, but your updates never show up on my reader. Hmmmmm. Must investigate.
My sister plants tulips in her grass. She says they make the yard look nice and they generally bloom before you have to start mowing.
I stopped by your blog and you have my old blog still listed in your blogroll. I think you have to unsubscribe from that one and then subscribe to this one.
Hope that helps!
My daughter used to pick said flowers and bring them into the house constantly…
How cute! I remember being a kid and thinking dandelions were such beautiful flowers… then my grumpy grandma would always tell me…” Don’t you dare bring those into my house.. they are just weeds in disguise!”
LOL
Perfect! love their view, although I think we would be trying to get rid of them too :).
When I see dandelions, I think of bees, and I remember as a kid playing out in the grass where dandelions were growing and not thinking about bees at the time but it happened, I stepped on a dandelion which had a bee on it and I was stung on the bottom of my foot so now I do not like dandelions at all and never go barefoot outside where there are any trace of a dandelion, I’ll never ever forget that painful feeling from being stung, ouch it really hurt on the bottom of my foot and the buzz it was making as I tried to get it off of me, was so loud and something I never want to repeat (bad memories still haunt me about that bee stinging) so if I need to go out I always wear shoes.. and I have dandelions growing in my yard that I avoid at all costs, actually in my backyard I have a bee hive in the ground right now , the bees have made a hive in a hole and I watched them fly in and fly out of this hole, I think they are referred to as killer cicada bees and they do make their hives underground, we are waiting until the weather gets colder to go after them and get it out of our yard, so far no one has been stung but we dont go near them or the hole.
My daughter has the absolute same reaction as your children. So I am on the look out for a small vase to keep them in when she picks them for me.
