We have an iPad and we all love it, especially Kora and Logan. That’s why when I heard about VTech’s Innotab
The VTech Innotab is a multi-functional educational tablet for children. It’s targeted toward those ages 4-9. It combines interactive reading, creative activities, learning games, and a wide variety of applications.
The 5″ screen on the Innotab is large and easy to read. It’s also a touch screen and has a tilt sensor, both of which I know Kora and Logan would enjoy. They already know how to use the touchscreen and tilt feature on the iPad, so these will be favorite features of theirs I’m sure. The Innotab also comes with a stylus as well as a USB port, an SD card slot, and a headphone jack.
Other features of the Innotab include:
- Interactive Animated E-books – which offer story narration, characters voices, vivid graphics, animation, music, and sounds. The e-books help with reading comprehension, phonics, and vocabulary building. As the story is narrated, individual words are highlighted and a child can touch each word to hear how it is pronounced.
- Creative Activities – the ArtStudio on Innotab allows children to express their creative side through painting, drawing, and coloring. Photo editing is also available as well as special effects.
- Motion Learning Games – these games utilize the touch screen and tilt sensor for truly interactive games. Children can tap, flick, drag-and-drop, turn, tilt, and move the tablet in ways that will keep them involved and excited about the games.
The Innotab also offers feature rich software cartridges which include e-books, learning activities, and creative activities complete with favorite characters from Toy Story, Dora the Explorer, Micky Mouse Clubhouse, and more.
Another fun aspect of the Innotab is the applications including the integrated MP3 Player and the Video Player. Children can listen to their favorite songs or watch videos to their heart’s content. Other application include: Calculator, Calendar, Notebook, Clock, Address Book, and Photo Viewer.
This is one hard-working fun tablet for kids. It’s also one that I know Kora and Logan will enjoy. The VTech Innotab

We love the InnoTab. Zoe used it daily unfortunately after only a 1 week it quit turning on:( (I think there was a malfunction in shipping as it was acting up when we first got it, not VTech’s fault) I’m waiting on my new unit now so I can fully review it. That being said I think this is an awesome gift for kids, definitely educational, and lots of fun things to do.
