Hand sanitizer is something that doesn’t last long when you have two preschoolers. This time of year the flu and colds are running rampant and with everyone cooped up all winter influenza germs spread quickly. On top of that Kora & Logan touch everything! A quick trip to the grocery store involves me pulling out hand sanitizer at least 5 times. I know I sound like a germaphobe but once one of the kids gets flu symptoms, I panic. Cold and flu spread through our house like wildfire so we do our best to prevent it.
While I love the invention of hand sanitizer and have no idea how parents ever got along without it, I do find that it is sometimes very drying. This can be a problem because since I hand wash all our dishes, due to our lack of dishwasher, my hands get very dry in the winter. Both Kora & Logan have also been struggling with dry skin this winter as well. Logan’s hands are dry because his skin has been that way since he was born. Kora’s just started. I’ve been wondering if it’s been related to our use of hand sanitizer.
So when started thinking about this connection I learned that it’s also alcohol in typical hand sanitizers that makes them so drying. In fact, the alcohol can even leave hands cracked and more susceptible to germs. Also, I read that alcohol-based hand sanitizers don’t provide continuous germ protection, instead, once the alcohol evaporates so does the protection.
Needless to say, I was excited when I learned about Veripur Hand Sanitizer Moisturizer. It kills 99.9% of germs and while it does not contain alcohol it offers 4 hours of continuous germ protection. It is also a moisturizer as well and I was pleased when I first applied it to my hands to see that it comes out like a lotion instead of a clear gel. It rubs in very smoothly and after using it my hands felt great. If you had blindfolded me and put regular moisturizing lotion in one hand and Veripur Hand Sanitizer Moisturizer in the other, I wouldn’t have been able to tell you which was which.
Since using Veripur, I have been very happy with it and really love how it feels on my hands. I feel like my hands are far less dry since I switched and I will happily be shopping for it at Walgreens this February. I recommend Veripur Hand Sanitizer Moisturizer to anyone looking for a way to keep their hands moisturized while trying to fight off the flu and common cold this winter.
I wrote this review while participating in a Mom Central Consulting blog tour on behalf of Veripur Hand Sanitizer Moisturizer. I received a Veripur product sample and a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.
