There’s always a lot to do in the Cleveland area for families and over the next week-and-a-half there are many fun Valentine’s Day themed events and activities taking place around town. From chocolate festivals to carriage rides, there’s sure to be something fun for every member of your family. These events are a great way to break up the cold, snowy winter we’ve been having and will warm your heart and, quite possibly, satisfy your sweet tooth!
Fun Valentine’s Day Themed Events for Kids
Home Depot Kids Workshop – Heart Shelf: This Saturday, February 5th sign your child up for the free Home Depot Kids Workshop and let them have their hand at building their very own heart shelf. In addition to the project children receive their own kid-size Home Depot apron and an achievement pin. This is one project that will create memories to last a lifetime!
14th Annual Chocolate Festival - Medina. Now this event sounds like fun! The 14th Annual Chocolate Festival is returning to the Medina Performing Arts Center on Saturday, February 5th from 11 am – 3 pm. The festival is a family-oriented event features chocolate sampling, a Children’s Candyland area with games and amusements, a bake sale and more. The chocolate sampling is incredible and includes items like: chocolate cheesecake, brownies, sugar free candy and cake, chocolate-covered spoons, chocolate roll, chocolate cake balls, buckeyes, fudge, chocolate cupcakes, chocolate covered pretzels, spicy peanuts in milk chocolate, mint meltaways, oreo crème pie, hot chocolate, chocolate golf balls, chocolate-covered strawberries, German chocolate cake, chocolate donuts, chocolate milk shakes, brownie biscotti, cocoa cappuccino, and more! Chocolate Festival - Vermilion. Visit the Ritter Public Library from 1 – 3 pm on Saturday, February 5th for delectable chocolate treats from local chefs at the Chocolate Festival. Samples are available for 50 cents each. Vote for your favorite to help choose the next Chocolate Champion!
I Love Books: A Valentine’s Day Celebration – Cleveland Public Library. On Saturday, February 5th at 2 pm the Cleveland Public Library Main Branch is celebrating books and and Valentine’s Day. Enjoy your favorite Valentine’s Day story, then make a valentine, and enjoy a sweet treat!
Horse Drawn Valentine’s Day Carriage Rides – Brecksville. Visit the Cleveland Metroparks Brecksville Reservation on Sunday, February 13th from 12 – 5 pm for Horse Drawn Valentine’s Day Carriage Rides. Enjoy hot chocolate and cookies along the 1 1/2 mile ride and stop for a barn tour and to meet the horses. Reservations required.
Valentine’s Day Playcation – Bay Village. Celebrate Valentine’s Day at the Lake Erie Nature & Science Center on February 14th from 10 – 11:30 am.
