One simple, but major improvement of a car that might have a little more personality (or be a bit older!) is upgrading the headlights.
We are working with Sylvania to share our experience with their Silverstar Ultra lights. They provide a whiter light and much better down-road vision.
Did you know that when you are driving at night that your headlights are your first line of defense?
Any obstacle you come across, whether it’s a pothole, branch, deer or even a child; seeing that obstacle more clearly and early allows for more reaction time to make the proper driving adjustments.
This is truly priceless, we added the Sylvania Silverstar Ultra lights to our older car, and it made a HUGE difference, the light shines significantly higher and further down the road, and it appears much brighter as well. Check out our old headlights view versus our new Silverstar Ultra view.
Obviously the new headlights are on the bottom, what a huge difference – brighter, whiter, wider and higher!
Upgrading our headlights allows us more visibility. Remember, every second or even every 10th of a second that you see something earlier matters. That additional reaction time especially matters if it can help prevent an accident.
Headlights are an often overlooked safety aspect of your car. Everyone remembers to change the oil and other maintenance, but your headlights are just as important to your driving safety as any other maintenance process. Headlights dim and burnout over time, if you can’t remember the last time you changed out your headlights, now is the perfect time to consider this upgrade.
Installing our Silverstar Ultra lights was pretty easy. Thanks to YouTube, I just looked at a video of someone changing them, and had the one done in about 10 minutes. The passenger light was a bit more of a chore, but after figuring out where I needed to go, it only took a couple of minutes. For basic DIY’ers this is definitely something you can do on your own, consult your car’s manual and use any online videos for some extra help like I did and you can do this pretty quickly.
Remember, when driving at night, every 10th of a second and every inch matters. Improving your headlights is a great way to give yourself an advantage to help keep you safe.
This is also an inexpensive way to help keep your new teen drivers safe. A lot of teens have a car that may not be the newest on the block, but upgrading their headlights is a great way to help make their car and their driving experience safer.
We love our new lights; they make a dramatic improvement to our nighttime driving experience. How much will upgrading your headlights improve your driving experience?
Oh wow! That makes a huge difference! I need to look into these! We have to drive alot of back roads and there is always deer around. These would be so helpful! I always thought a headlight was just a headlight! :) Now I know…there is a difference!!!
