Interview with Tracey Frost of Citibabes

Citibabes is the ultimate resource for parents in New York City. It is a family club that offers in-class education, a warm community, and fun. Located in SoHo and Scarsdale, the two locations offer an indoor playground, innovative children’s classes, preschool, birthday parties, a gourmet cafe, and family events. Adults will find parenting seminars, cocktail parties, a gym, spinning studio, personal training, yoga, Pilates, and fitness classes.

Tracey Frost is the CEO & Co-Founder of Citibabes and I recently had a chance to talk with her about the new Citibabes program – Family Adventure Camp at Turks & Caicos Parrot Cay & COMO Shambhala retreats.

Tired Mom Tésa: For those of us not in New York, or for those who are but may not heard of it yet, can you tell us about Citibabes?

Tracey Frost: Citibabes is a resource for family life. We have two 10,000 square foot facilities which offer 2 playgrounds – one indoor, one out, a cardio gym for parents, child care, a cafe, retail store, parties, classes, seminars, and parent education. It’s an oasis for family life.

Tired Mom Tésa: The Family Adventure Camp sounds so fun and exciting! Can you tell us about it?

Tracey Frost: We are currently working with a number of hotel groups to offer different programs through the year. The Family Adventure Camp is a pop-up camp for locations that don’t have a year round need but would like to offer something to their guests at peak travel times.

Tired Mom Tésa: So the camp is very family oriented?

Tracey Frost: Yes. It’s a win-win for parents and children. We didn’t want something where the parents drop the children off at 8 am and pick them up at 6 pm and they haven’t seen the kids all day. The Family Adventure Camp is about enriching family time. There are child activities from 9:30 am – 1:30 pm and then lunch. During that time activities are island themed and very arts based.

Parents then have 4 hours to spend at the gym, spa, or pool. This also allows for a wonderful quiet time at the pool because the kids are in camp. Parent and child activities begin at 4:30 pm with some projects including seashell frames and family logos.

Tired Mom Tésa: Thank you, Tracey for your time. Citibabes and Family Adventure Camp sound wonderful. I’m ready to pack up Tired Dad Dave, Kora & Logan and travel down to the Turks and Caicos to give the camp a try!

Citibabes-To-Go Family Adventure Camp takes place from Saturday, February 19th through Friday, February 25th, 2010 at the Turks and Caicos Parrot Cay and COMO Shambhala Resort.

Based on Citibabes’ popular CitiCamp program, the Family Adventure Camp will feature daily activities inspired by the unique history, culture, and environment of Parrot Cay hosted by your favorite friends from Citibabes. The camp will feature exciting themes: Sea & Reefs, Sand & Surf, Pirates & Treasure, and Flora & Fauna. Daily drop-off programming for children will allow adult guests to indulge in Parrot Cay & COMO Shambhala Retreat’s five-star amenities while little ones are supervised by our expert staff. The camps will also feature family activities and entertainment.

*Reserve your spot at the camp by November 30th and receive a 10% discount!

Thank you to Tracey Frost for participating in this interview. No compensation was received.

That’s nice that she put so much work into a beautiful and exotic location like Turks & Caicos while the Scarsdale Citibabes is failing. Scarsdale Citibabes is closing on December 31, 2010, right in the middle of the school year for the kids in CitiSchool.
