Through The Eyes Of A 5-Year-Old

Kora and Logan have had kids digital cameras for quite awhile now. They love them and take them along everywhere. The cameras have been to family outings, on long car rides, and even to the park. The cameras are such a favorite they are also used on a near daily basis around the house.

They enjoy taking pictures and when the memory cards get full they are equally excited to see the photos they’ve taken displayed on the computer monitor. I have to admit, I love it too. It’s an insightful way to get a look at the world through their eyes. I get to see what they they think is important enough to take photos of and their sense of humor often comes through in the pictures as well.

Here’s a few photos from Kora’s camera. These photos span the last 2-3 months or so. Obviously they aren’t the best quality but it’s a fun glimpse of life through Kora’s eyes.

Amara constantly wants to create a scrapbook with all of her photos. Getting to be an expensive habit! But it’s so great to see the talent these kids have.. and how they view the world. Such perspective!

Have you done the 100 steps experiment with them? I did that with NHL & JSL one day. We took our cameras, took 100 steps out of our front door and then found 15 things to photograph right then and there. Got some impressive results from my kids and it showed them just how many things there are to take photos of. http://www.techydad.com/2011/06/100-steps-father-son-photoshoot/

my son once took my camera and snapped some pictures. It’s a big no no for him to touch it and I didn’t find out until I saw the pictures but they were so cute to see the world in his eyes. I think we’re going to get him a camera for his birthday

I love seeing the pictures Kora took. It’s amazing to see thing the way a child sees them. It’s a shame there isn’t a way to capture what she is thinking at the moment the picture is taken.

It’s really cool to see what they chose to photograph – offers slot of insight into what they think is important or what matters to them.

Its so nice to have digital now and not paying so much out for film processing of some photos that, well let’s just say might not otherwise be printed. Kids photo libraries in computer are so important to keep filed and they are so proud to share! technology is so amazing!
