I don’t get many magazine subscriptions, but one I won’t let lapse is Disney Family Fun. It’s always full of creative crafts, games, and recipes that are do-able for the non-Martha Stewart types like me.
This month’s issue of the magazine has a couple of simple ideas to make celebrating St. Patrick’s Day easy and fun. Here’s just a few:
St. Patty’s Day Platter: Use a colorful variety of fruits for a rainbow platter. Marshmallows can act as the cloud at the end of the rainbow, and bananas for the pot of gold!
Taste a Rainbow Cupcakes: Here’s what little leprechauns look forward to on St. Patrick’s Day: a magical snack that can add color to the grayest March afternoon. Pot of gold not included. http://familyfun.go.com/recipes/taste-a-rainbow-cupcakes-842128/
St. Patrick’s Day Scavenger Hunt: Follow fun all the way to a faux pot of gold. http://familyfun.go.com/playtime/st-patricks-day-scavenger-hunt-708446/
A subscription to Disney Family Fun is only $9.95 for 1 year at Amazon.com.
Thanks to Disney Family Fun for providing information for the post. No compensation was provided for this post I just thought they were cute St. Patrick’s Days ideas that I wanted to pass along.

Omg the rainbow cupcakes look delicious!!! If only I didn’t know that I would end up eating 10 of the 12 cupcakes… =)
OMG!!! I am drooling!!! I heart cupcakes!
Sounds like something fun for Sophia and I to try out. THanks!

Wanted to let you know I added you to my blog roll!
I LOVE family fun! They have so many cool things to try!
You read my mind! I had one of my kinder students bring those cupcakes in last week and I had never seen them before! When the kids bit into them and found the rainbow surprise, they were BEYOND thrilled! I thought “Now THAT is a recipe every good mama needs in her bag of tricks!” Woo hoo, you made my day :)
We might have to give these a try!
Just ripped out a couple of ideas for dinner for April 1. Making a pudding look like a pot pie and a Fauxberry Pie that looks like a pie but is really a shepherd’s pie. Thought crazy Grandpa would get a chuckle.
Anything green and with Shamrocks on is obviously a good place to start.
Here are some more ideas for party food:
# Irish stew
# Guinness Irish soda bread
# Green jelly
# Four leave clover shaped cookies with green icing on top
# Cup cakes with green icing and rainbow sprinkles
# Rainbow Drops
# Shepherds Pie with cabbage or green herbs on top
# Guinness for the adults only
# Limeade
I get Family Fun too, and we love it around here!
