I’m tired of hibernating. That’s what I feel like I do each winter. Throughout the rest of the year, I’m pretty active and get to the gym regularly. However, the minute the temps fall below 40, I can’t stand leaving the house. And this from someone who loves to be anywhere but home (now I know where Kora gets it from!)
Thankfully, Spring is around the corner and the temperature will start rising and staying up soon. I’m crossing my fingers that we’ve had our last snowfall and am looking forward to starting a regular workout routine again after we get back from vacation.
It’s always a bit frustrating working out again after doing nothing all winter. I never want to start slowly, I just want to jump back into things and then I end up sore and tired. This Spring, I’m planning to start off slow and hopefully build into enough of a routine that I’ll enjoy myself throughout the year and next winter won’t go into hibernation again.
What about you? Do you workout as often in the winter? How do you motivate yourself to get back into a workout routine after a long break?

it’s so hard to be motivated. I watch trashy reality shows like Real Housewives and make myself feel bad for not looking half as good as they are at almost twice my age. It helps to take photographs with as lil clothes as possible and see what you don’t like and use taht as motivation. i’m sick like that. i have 13lbs to go. how about you?
I am tired of hibernating, too! In Chicago it’s quite the same situation with cold. We haven’t as much snow, but the bone chilling temps are ridiculous in the winter. I just started back up at Zumba and am loving it. Gotta get those weights out, too.
I started the 30 day shred last week and can barely move my knee right now so I’m taking a few days off while I get glucosamine back into my system.
