Slow Cooker, Casseroles, Soups & Stews – Bookazine Review

I can’t cook. Thankfully, Super Tired Dad Marc makes wonderful meals and keeps us all fed. Now that summer is approaching, he is going to be starting up another round of evening graduate school classes, leaving me in charge of dinner twice a week. Some of these nights I’ll be getting off a plane and heading right to the sitter’s house to pick up our girls, so quick and easy is going to be extremely important.

Luckily, we have a crockpot and I plan on making it earn its counter space this summer. I figure depending on my work travel, one of us can get the dinner into the crockpot the night before and whoever is here in the morning can turn it on and head to work or the airport.

Hearst Magazines has released Slow Cooker, Casseroles, Soups & Stews, a special bookazine featuring 105 easy, hearty recipes for simple slow cooker suppers, classic casseroles and savory soups and stews, developed and tested by the editors of Good Housekeeping, Redbook, and Country Living.

Slow Cooker Bookazine

I have been reading Good Housekeeping since I was a kid (Thanks Mom!) and have been a subscriber to Redbook for a few years now and have always enjoyed the recipes in both magazines. It’s wonderful having all their hits in one bookazine!

I have this edition and LOVE it – I made the Beer Stew (not sure exactly what it’s called but you use beer and beef to make a stew) and my whole family thought it was terrific!

  2. I can relate, not a great cook here either. I got a new slow cooker for Christmas and I am starting to figure out some things to make in it.
