Skyfire App With HotSwap Review

Dave and I are addicted to our iPhones and love using the iPad too. We’ve often talked about how incredible these devices are and wonder how we ever manged without them even just a few years ago? While we love these gadgets, there is just one issue that has been a constant chronic problem with them – the inability to play Flash videos.

That’s where the Skyfire App comes in.

Skyfire Review It’s a web browser for iPhones and iPads that supports Flash videos. When I first heard of this app, I was excited to see how well it would work. I downloaded it and had it up and running in seconds. Skyfire is very user-friendly and makes it easy to navigate the web.

Skyfire Reviews I went to sites of some of my favorite tv shows. I always thought it would be wonderful to be able to watch any missed episodes on the iPad but because the videos use Flash we weren’t able to.

But now that we have Skyfire that problem is solved!

I pulled up the latest Survivor episode, even watched a few behind-the-scenes clips, watched a clip of Saturday Night Live, and even saw The Middle.

Here’s a video I took showing how Skyfire works and how simple it is to use.

It is important to note that Skyfire does not enable Flash apps, it is a web browser that is only focused on video at this time.

Another feature of Skyfire that will come in handy when Kora and Logan get a bit older is HotSwap. Skyfire HotSwap is a new type of mobile browser that allows up to 4 users to save their browsing preferences between profiles. This is the perfect solution for those that get frustrated whenever a family member uses the iPad and logs you out of all of your social accounts.

Skyfire HotSwap Review HotSwap is integrated into the Skyfire web browser and allows each person to set up a separate account within the browser which eliminates annoying logins, logouts, and site set-up processes. After using the iPad, hand it off to the next person, who simply swaps to their own personalized profile where all their browsing preferences and social settings are saved. Isn’t that a great idea?

Here’s a video showing HotSwap in action:

I recommend the Skyfire App to anyone with an iPhone or iPad that wants to watch flash videos. It’s a bargain at only $4.99 for the iPad and $2.99 for the iPhone and gives new life to these devices. But don’t just take my word for it Skyfire was ranked by the Apple App Store as the #1 paid utility iPad app in 2011 and it has been downloaded over 13 million times.

Product was provided. No compensation received. The honest opinions are my own.

  1. I wish I’d got an iPad instead of my last laptop. Next time!

  2. If you are really into apps, as a parent, you should check out A Jazzy Day app. Its an amazing app for toddlers and young children that educates them on jazz music. Its very entertaining and the animation is exceptional. Theres a storybook portion and a game portion for learning about instruments. Here is the website:
