Silk Pure Almond – Review

7 Flares 7 Flares ×

When are you willing to spend over $3.00 for a 1/2 gallon of milk? Maybe when your 4-year- old granddaughter drinks three glasses of it when she usually turns her nose up at milk!

Maybe when you use it to make French toast and it is the best French Toast you have ever made!

French Toast

Maybe when it is Silk Pure Almond milk.

Silk Pure Almond

I’ve never used any type of milk substitute before, so I was excited to give the Silk for Milk 10 Day Challenge a try. I chose the Silk Almond milk because I truly love almond flavoring.  I was surprised when pouring the Almond milk because it is the consistency of coffee creamer.  The taste is a mild, but delicious. And truly the French toast was amazing!  I can’t wait to try it in other recipes!

I was also interested to learn that besides the delicious taste of the Silk Milk, it is actually good for you.  It has 45% of the recommended daily calcium, zero fat, zero cholesterol, and only 7 grams of sugar in each glass.

  1. My wife loves the Almond Breeze by Blue Diamond but I think this Silk Almond is the better of the two. Its got more flavor.

  2. Alana Vester says:

I have been leery to try this kind of milk, but I think I will now. I will definitely try it with french toast!

  3. Rolan Cobb says:

The last carton of unsweetened pure almond I bought had crystals of some sort in it. Almost like frozen ice crystals. I just wonder what that might be? The temperature of the refrigerator was 40 degrees or so. It tastes OK and isn’t old or out of date.

  4. Jessica W says:

I given the prospect of switching milk types some serious consideration. And ultimately, the monetary factor has always won out. However, I just wanted to say that I did buy Silk Chocolate Milk(soy) once…and my kids absolutely loved it! I was pleasantly surprised because I really thought they would be very hesitant to try it…let alone like it! My daughter really wants to try Silk Almond Milk. She’s quite the foodie at the young age of 14…and has been for years! Maybe I’ll come across a good coupon and be able to some for her :)

  5. I have not tried this milk before, but I love french toast and those look so good.

  6. Love the coconut millk! I use it as creamer, in cereal (amazing!) and smoothies (with frozen pineapple). I also like the almond milk. The dark chocolate is good, but amazingly rich – I felt like I needed to cut it with regular milk or it was too rich. Made excellent hot chocolate though.
