This blog post is part of a paid SocialMoms and Silk blogging program. The opinions and ideas expressed here are my own.
Do you know the old saying, “eating us out of house and home?” That’s Kora lately. She has been growing a lot and as a result is always hungry. She’ll eat dinner and 10 minutes later will be yelling she’s starving. I’ve been looking for good ways to keep her fuller longer and that’s why I am excited to partner with SocialMoms to review Silk Fruit & Protein.
When I heard that Silk Fruit & Protein has protein that other juices don’t have I thought immediately of Kora. I know protein can be filling and she does love both regular and flavored milk so this seemed like a great fit. I picked up a container of the Strawberry-Banana.
I poured Kora a glass and waited to see.
It was a big hit. She gave it a thumbs up.
She loved the strawberry flavor and said it stood out the most. She also said the flavor reminds her of yogurt, which she loves.
I’ve been pouring her a big glass for breakfast and it does seem to be helping. I’m not hearing her yell she’s hungry immediately after eating anymore.
I like Silk Fruit & Protein because it is a good source of Calcium, Vitamin D, and Vitamin C. It also comes in a Mixed Berry Flavor that I look forward to trying.
With school around the corner we’ve been working on ways to “Shake Up our Wake-Up Routine.” Here’s a few ways we look forward to mixing things up a bit in the coming weeks:
- Getting up earlier – we need to start getting into a regular school morning routine which means being ready to be out the door at 7:40 a.m. Kora will be thrilled about this, since she’s an early bird. The rest of us are going to need the practice.
- Making a delicious, healthy, and filling breakfast – During the summer we like to sleep in and laze around. Sometimes we don’t eat breakfast until 10 and then it’s usually a frozen waffle or two. We can’t send the kids off to school still hungry so I’ve been pinning recipes to my breakfast Pinterest board to give a try once school rolls around.
- Sneaking notes into lunchboxes – I started doing this when Kora & Logan went to day camp this summer. They loved it and would come home all smiles talking about the notes. I had fun writing them and drawing little characters on them too. I can’t wait to sneak in a few notes in their lunchboxes this school year.
- Serve Silk Fruit & Protein for breakfast – We usually serve milk or orange juice for breakfast but since trying Silk Fruit & Protein I’m looking forward to serving it for breakfast before the kids head off to school. The extra protein and vitamins and delicious flavor will be a good way to start the day.
When shopping look for it near the other Silk beverages in the refrigerated section of your grocery store.
What about you? How are you “Shaking Up Your Wake-Up Routine?”
