Siliskin Glass – Review

SiliskinsWith all the talk in recent years of the health risks of BPA and toxic chemicals in children’s products there has been an increase in BPA-free and glass baby products. Frankly, the idea of a glass baby bottle or glass cup for my preschooler scares me. I don’t have the most “graceful” girls and I’m pretty sure a glass cup or bottle would last about 0.5 seconds in our house. Luckily, silikids has arrived with their Siliskin Glasses.

Kids learning to drink from a “big kid” cup love the Siliskin-Glass, a clean alternative to plastic drink-ware. BPA-free, and made from 100% food grade silicone, the Siliskin-Glass helps prevent slipping and adds extra protection to the glass inside. According to the silikids website, glass is the cleanest option for drinking and it lasts because it’s reusable, and recylable. The Siliskin is hypo-allergenic, has no open pores to harbor bacteria, is dishwasher safe, and can be boiled to sterilize.

Siliskin

I was sure that the glass cup would still break when dropped so I gave it a few bounces on the counter. The glass didn’t even clink when it hit the counter!

The Siliskin was easy to remove to wash the glass, but secure enough that I wasn’t worried about it slipping off during use. It was a breeze to put back on also.

While we won’t be using these types of cups for full time use in our house for quite awhile, our Siliskin Glass is perfect in the bathroom for after Mackenzie brushes her teeth. It seems to stay cleaner than the plastic cup we had before and the sleeve keeps it from sliding around the countertop.

silikids has a wide variety of glasses, baby bottles and even bibs for sale at silikids.com and you can “like” silikids at facebook.com/silikids and follow silikids on twitter at twitter.com/silikids.

Thank you to silikids for providing the product for review. No compensation was received. The opinions are my own and that of my family.

Wow ~ not even a clink when dropped. I’d love to give these a try. I always worry about breaking glass but these sound pretty safe.

You always wonder if these things work when you see them-sometimes the concept is better than the actual usage. Glad to see these are mom tested and mom approved and would be a great baby shower gift.

Wow! I’m also surprise they didn’t break when dropped! Worth Buying!
