Thank you to Red Toolbox for providing the products for review. The honest opinions are our own.
I don’t believe in gender stereotyped toys for my 2 little girls. For my oldest’s first Christmas, Santa brought her race cars and a baby doll. For her second Christmas, she got a toolbox and play trucks in addition to “girl” toys and her toolbox has been one of her favorite toys ever since. My husband enjoys doing home improvement and last year completely gutted and refinished our basement so Mackenzie got to spend lots of time at Home Depot, one of her favorite stores.
Red Toolbox is a complete world of tools specifically designed to suit a child’s grip, complemented by a wide selection of original woodworking kits and a workbench. These woodworking projects let kids learn and apply various skills according to the level of difficulty.
We received the 10 piece Tool Set to review.
The 10 piece Tool Set included: Goggles, Tape Measure, Philips Screwdriver, flat screwdriver, Hammer, Saw, File, 2″ clamp, Ruler, Tool belt. My husband and I were both very impressed with the quality of the tools – they are heavy duty, actual tools instead of heavier duty toys. The screwdrivers even had magnetized tips, just like Daddy’s tools. The saw is pretty sharp so we used that and the safety googles as a lesson in how to use real tools safely. She also thought the kid sized tool belt was so cool and couldn’t wait to load it up with all her tools.
We also received the Mini Treasure Chest kit and the Mini Bug Barn
Mackenzie wanted to put together the Mini Treasure Chest kit so she could play with it right away. She said it’s too cold outside right now for bugs so she wanted to wait until the bugs come back to try out her Mini Bug Barn.
The directions for the kit were easy to follow and the package said it should take approximately 60 minutes for assembly and we found that to be true. I liked that the kit came with everything we needed other than glue, but we easily had that in our craft box.
These tools and kits are geared for children ages 8 and up so Mackenzie is a bit young to build on her own. She did have a great time helping Daddy hammer and glue her treasure chest.
Red Toolbox has a huge selection of tools and kits for all skill levels – even up to building your own air hockey table! Red Toolbox provides high quality, usable tools and kits for children to enjoy while spending time with their favorite adults.
