Playhouse Disney Live in Cleveland Review

Yesterday Tired Dad Dave and I pulled out our umbrellas, packed up the kids, and headed downtown to see Playhouse Disney Live. Kora and Logan are head over heels for Handy Manny, Mickey Mouse, Pooh and Friends, and the Little Einsteins. So when we told them we were going to see them all together in one show they were so excited. They kept insisting that the the 10 minute drive was taking forever.

We arrived at the Wolstein Center for the 6 pm show and parked directly across the street for only $6. We then headed to the box office and to pick up our tickets at Will Call. The lines were long, but moved quickly and the employees at the desk were friendly and expedient.

Once we received our tickets we made our way through the hallway filled with spinning and blinking toys. Most vendors wore plastic yellow construction hats and Kora and Logan pointed out every one of them exclaiming, “Look there’s Handy Manny! Again!” We found our seats fairly quickly and as we settled in we were pleased to see that the stage used only one end of the arena, which allowed everyone in the audience a close-up view of the actors and characters.

The Playhouse Disney Live story line was very cute. Mickey Mouse wanted to throw a music party for his friends. So he invited the Little Einsteins, Pooh & Friends, and Handy Manny & the Tools. Each group wanted to contribute music to the party, so they all set out to search for the perfect song.
The Little Einsteins flew around the world to find music from different countries:
Pooh, Tigger, & Darby used their super sleuthing abilities to look at nature and find their song:
Handy Manny and the Tools used everyday things to create a song:
In the end, Mickey threw a great party with lots of wonderful music:
We’ve been to a number of kids shows in the past year and this was the first show that had Kora and Logan patting their knees, clapping their hands, and even up dancing:
The show was 90 minutes with a 20 minutes intermission, which was just enough time to share a small bucket of popcorn:
As a family, we all really enjoyed Playhouse Disney Live. It was easy to get to, it wasn’t overly crowded, the stage wasn’t a million miles away, the storyline was cute, the music was catchy, and the timing of the show couldn’t have been more perfect – we were home right at bedtime.
The kids have been talking about the show and singing songs from it all day today. When Playhouse Disney Live comes back to Cleveland, we’ll be sure to be there again.

    My kids LOVE the Playhouse Disney show at Disneyland. I really wanted to take them to the traveling show when it was in our area, but we missed it. No worries though – we go to Disneyland in just a few weeks!
