Pigtail Pals Review

“A Pigtail Pal doesn’t wish upon a star and wait for her prince to show up. A Pigtail Pal gets into her rocket ship and finds that star all on her own!”

Growing up, I confess, I was a tomboy. I idolized Laura Ingalls from Little House on the Prairie. I thought the Pippi Longstocking book series was wonderful. Jo was my favorite character on Facts of Life.

I believe there’s a law out there that states the children must be the direct opposite of their parents. So because I have an intense distaste for pink, pretty princesses that always need to be saved – Kora loves them. And because they are what makes her happy I family members end up buying them for her.

Needless to say I was thrilled when I came across Pigtail Pals. A clothing line with the mission to “Redefine Girly.” A company with the belief that “being a hero isn’t just for the boys!”

Pigtail Pals sent us a shirt for review and both Kora and I loved it. She was very proud to show off her “Doctor Kora” shirt and made sure everyone noticed the ambulance in the background. She also thought it was great that it said, “Call me in the morning..” underneath the picture.

Pigtail Pals offers a number of different designs. Here are just a few:

Pigtail Pals has committed to social responsibility as well. They hope to teach young girls the importance of giving back therefore, whenever a shirt is purchased from their online store they contribute to their charity of the month.

If you are interested in tips about empowering young girls, I also suggest that you follow Pigtail Pals on Twitter. Some of the past tweets pointed followers to links about Jessica Biel climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro for a good cause and a young Yemeni girl who refuses to wear the veil.

Overall I love Pigtail Pals and hope they succeed in their mission to inspire our daughters to be “smart, daring, and adventurous.”

Kora, Logan, and I give Pigtail Pals a

 Big Thumbs Up!

Are you a tomboy, girly girl, or somewhere in between?

Thank you to Pigtail Pals for providing the shirt for review. No other compensation was received for this review. The unbiased opinion is my own, yours may be different.

    Super cute shirts!

I found The Road to be very engrossing – I read it in just a few days. But it is also very dark and kind of a bummer, everything was just so depresssing!

That’s kind of why I’ve been putting it off. Same with The Lovely Bones. I really want to read it and think the movie looks pretty good, but I also believe it will bother me to no end now that I have two little kids. So I’ve put it on the backburner too.

Love the shirts and the idea behind it!! It’s good to see a company promoting all the things that girls can do jus as well as boys can!

  8. Melanie says:

I was definitely a tomboy!! That shirt is adorable! My daughter is shaping up to be a good mix – totally girly about some things, but loves to run and be active and isn’t afraid to fall down and get dirty.

  9. I love the picture at the end. So cute. I was a tomboy growing up too. I am going to check these out for my daughter. Thanks
