Happy Chinese New Year! P.F. Chang’s is celebrating the Year of the Dragon with two new Home Menu Meals for 2.
The first is Grilled Chicken Teriyaki with Lo Mein Noodles.
To tell you the truth, I was hesitant to try this meal because I have never been a big fan of teriyaki sauce. However, this meal was really flavorful.
The sauce was a thick caramel color, and it clung to the rest of the food. There was very little sauce left on the plate when we were finished, because it had mixed up so well with everything else. The grilled chicken pieces were large and tender. The pineapple had just the right amount of sweetness. The noodles were not clumpy, but rather were moist and complemented the rest of the meal.
The second meal was Firecracker Shrimp with Yakisoba Noodles. This meal was exactly as indicated.
From the first bite, I could feel the heat on my tongue and traveling down my throat. The shrimp was lightly coated. The carrots, edamame and noodles were all the right combination for a spicy meal.
So often when you purchase a frozen meal the outside of the container does not even represent what you get inside. Not, so with these meals from P.F. Chang’s.
I was pleasantly surprised to open these bags and see large pieces of the main ingredients. For the busy family they are fast to make. I cooked them on the stove and both meals were ready in the time the bags indicated. The Grilled Chicken Teriyaki took 13 minutes and the Firecracker Shrimp took 10 minutes.
The Chinese New Year runs from January 23rd through February 6th. The Year of the Dragon is said to be the luckiest of all the Chinese astrological signs. I would recommend you begin your luck with P.F Chang’s. I don’t believe you will be disappointed.
