Our Summer Staycation with Hormel Foods

Last weekend we thought it would be fun to go on a little staycation. We love the Cleveland area and all it has to offer and the weather was beautiful so we decided to head out to one of our favorite local parks and have a picnic.

This park is huge and has so much to offer. There’s an impressive jungle gym and other playground equipment, there’s a swimming pool, a baseball field, open areas to play soccer or volleyball, picnic tables, and there’s a gorgeous views of Lake Erie and downtown Cleveland.

It’s an wonderful place to spend a few hours or even all day.

When we arrived we were all hungry so we set up our Hormel Foods staycation picnic.

We had Hormel Cure 81 Diced Boneless Ham in our pasta salad.

Pasta Salad We enjoyed Hormel Natural Choice Lunchmeat on our sandwiches.

Picnic After all of that delicious food we were ready to play and burn off some energy.Kora and Logan wanted to play on the jungle gym right away. Off they went to swing, slide, climb, bounce, hang, and spin.

Park We decided to end the day with a walk along the water and got some great pictures of the downtown Cleveland skyline.

Cleveland Skyline Sunset We had a wonderful staycation and enjoyed our time together. It was nice to unplug for awhile and to experience one of our area’s nicest parks. Kora & Logan had such a good time they are already asking when we can do it again.

Your little girl is really good at those yellow monkey-bar dealies. Seriously… that’s the best description I can come up with! sigh.

My daughter won’t ever let me let go of her on those!

This looks like a fun time, and the salad looks yummy. I didn’t know they made diced Cure 81. I’ll have to try it :)

  4. It looks like you had so much fun. We visited Cleveland to take my son to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame a few years ago and had a wonderful time. There are so many fun things to do. Spending time with family is the best.

That looks like a fun playground! Your kids look like they’re having a blast. I remember how summer days seemed to last forever when I was a kid.

  9. Looks like fun. But when we get the house paid off this year, I’ll be ready for the old fashioned get-away-vacation again.
