I wrote this review while participating in a campaign for Mom Central Consulting on behalf of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. I received a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
I’ve often promoted the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) and their events here on this blog. It makes me happy to spread the word of such a fantastic organization that means a lot to me. After graduating from college one of my best friends worked for a local club here in the Cleveland area and she spoke so highly of the work they did that I’ve always felt a close connection.
I was thrilled at the opportunity a few months back to be part of a charitable giveaway where I had the opportunity to donate $2,500 to the charity of my choice and I selected the BGCA. They do so much for children that I knew immediately that I selected a well deserving organization.
That’s why I’m happy now to share that April 7th – 13th is National Boys & Girls Club Week.
It’s the perfect opportunity to learn more about the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. As part of the celebration you are invited to “Open The Door & Take Take The Tour” and take part in the Blue Door Decorating Duel where you can vote for your favorite decorated BGCA blue door. The winning club will receive a $5,000 Lowe’s gift card!
This week is the perfect time to take a physical tour of your local BGCA Club but if you can’t make it out to a specific location, you can click here to tour a club virtually.
I was interested to recently learn that more than 4,000 Boys & Girls Clubs serve millions of children across the country and on military installations overseas. The clubs offer a place for the kids to grow and they provide caring guidance and fun as well as engaging programs that help the kids do well in school, choose healthy lifestyles, and give back to their communities.
To celebrate National Boys & Girls Club Week, clubs across the country are planning fun activities for their members, their parents, and their neighborhoods. There will be teen forums, health fairs, carnivals, and more. Many of the tween and teen leadership groups will also be volunteering at homeless shelters or at assisted living facilities.
This is going to be an informative, fantastic, and fun week!
Visit the BGCA site for more information on how you can help support National Boys & Girls Club Week.
Wow I had no idea there were 4,000 Boys & Girls Clubs. I didn’t know they existed until I moved up to Seattle.
I love the Boys and Girls Club. My son learned how to play pool there when he was younger and played basketball there too.
I love that you are promoting the Blue Door Decorating Duel where the winning club will get $5000 Lowe’s gift card. They could sure do a lot with that money!
I just checked out the site and found that there are 15 within a pretty close vicinity to my home. I was looking for a new place to volunteer and they usually welcome us because I come with a Service Dog. I wanted to find an activity to,do with children and had just finished up with the local library,
great cause

BCGC is a wonderful organization. Their support and resources helped us greatly at a difficult time in the past.
It really is a great organization, and one with which I often worked when I worked with Girl Scouts and detention centers. They offer a lot of great programs for kids to whom other opportunities either aren’t available or aren’t practical. Great to share this!
