Before Emma was eating real food the problem of where to put her while the rest of us ate dinner was easy. She hung out in her exersaucer, bouncer or swing. Now that she is eating dinner with us it’s time for some sort of seating arrangement for her. We don’t have a high chair at our house. Our dining room is decent sized, but I’ve never felt the need to have a separate highchair for either of my kids. My oldest used a space saving mini-highchair on a regular dining room chair. It’s practical, it does the job but it’s not terribly exciting or fun to look at.
mutsy sent us their newest s(eating) – get i?, seating and eating! – product, the grow-up! booster seat. This flexible seat reducer with base allows your baby to sit comfortably on the average grown-up chair. A clever harness makes sure your child can be fastened safely. This bright and modern looking seat is suitable for children up to 4 years of age.
The seat comes in six bright fun colors and Emma was happy to try out the Mandarin color.
This booster is larger than most of the other booster seats I’ve used but it is made of a squishy, yet sturdy foam material. It has a 5 point harness that can be converted easily to a lap belt for bigger kids. It was simple to strap onto our dining room chair and wasn’t going to budge.
Emma enjoyed the grow-up! booster seat quite a bit. Since it sits up higher on our dining room than other boosters we’ve used, Emma couldn’t sit all the way up at the table with us. Our table has a edge underneath the table top and her legs in the booster couldn’t quite fit under the table because of that. The straps were easy to adjust to secure her in the seat and she tried quite hard to wiggle out but couldn’t!
The product information states that the grow-up! booster seat can be used for children up to 4 years of age so Mackenzie, age 4, had to give it a try. First of all, Mackenzie is extremely tall for her age. I was able to buckle her in using the straps as just a lap belt but there was no way she was able to sit under the table with the booster. However, a more petite child would be able to use it without any problem. She did say it was really soft and comfy to sit in and she loved the bright orange color.
mutsy also has a line of very modern strollers and highchairs available for parents looking for clean lines and fun colors for their little ones.
