We love to play games in our house and lately it has become a bit of a challenge as Emma wants to play along too. Unfortunately her version of playing along usually involves her stealing pieces and crawling away as fast as can be, while making Mackenzie upset. It makes it hard for us to complete a game from start to finish with everything where it belongs.
When the Mega Bloks Domino Build Game
The Color & Matching Building game is for up to four players. It is played like regular dominos but with a twist – the winner is the player that builds their block zoo animal first. We played with three players, Mackenzie, Mommy and Daddy, so that meant there was a leftover zoo animal for Emma to hold. She loved playing with the blocks so we had a few minutes to get a game in.
The rules are simple – the tiles are used just like regular dominoes and when you make a match, you also get to pick a block to build your animal. If you can’t make a match and play your domino, you draw one and if you aren’t able to use it, your turn is over.
Why I Liked Mega Bloks Domino Build Game
- A full game only takes about 10 minutes to play so it’s great when time is limited
- The domino cards are bright and heavy duty to last a long time
- The zoo animal building blocks add extra fun – and a distraction for Emma
- Fun way to learn matching of colors and animals
- Mackenzie took great pride in explaining the instructions to me – she and Daddy played once before I got to play
Mega Bloks Domino Build Game will get lots of use in our house and I have plans of picking up a few for my gift bin. This would be a great gift game for birthdays or holidays for the pre-school crowd!
