The Chevy Mission for this week was a trip to Massage Envy. Truthfully, I have a hard time calling it a mission!
Tired Dad Dave and I booked a couples massage. He was excited and I was a little nervous. I’ve only had one massage in my entire life and it was about 10 years ago. There was nothing to worry about though, the Massage Therapists were wonderful and we walked out of there feeling like jelly.
My massage was a general total body massage, while Tried Dad Dave asked for a sports-like massage with a focus on his back and a shoulder that always bothers him. Being in the Couples Room wasn’t much different than being alone, with the exception of hearing Tired Dad Dave’s Therapist remarking, “Got it,” or “There we go,” whenever she worked out a knot. I did find it a little hard not to laugh at times, but that was more out of nervousness than anything.
After our 60 minutes, the lights came on and we were welcomed back to the real world. As we checked out, we discussed with the receptionist the amazing deal that select Northeast Ohio Chevy dealers are currently running: Test drive a Chevy and receive a complimentary one hour massage session at Massage Envy.
The receptionist said earlier that same day 3 people had been in to take advantage of the offer. When we returned home to relieve Grandma from babysitting duties, we told her about it and she’s immediately started making plans to take advantage of the offer. A great way to “pay” for babysitting if you ask me!
Before we left the building however, I caught myself tearing up a little. No, it wasn’t as a result of the massage, but because I started reading about Massage Envy’s event – Massage for the Cure. Having just participated in the Cleveland 3-Day for the Cure®, I was touched to learn that Massage Envy is offering $49 massages on September 14th from which 100% of the funds raised will go to the local affiliates of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® with the goal of raising $500,000.
Isn’t that amazing? Not only are you getting a good price on a massage, but the money is going towards the fight against breast cancer.
After taking in all this incredible information, Tired Dad Dave and I loaded our jelly-like muscles into the Malibu and relaxed as we listened to the XM Spa station all the way home.
