Kora and Logan love Dora, Diego, and Handy Manny not only because they are entertaining, but also because they enjoy learning to speak Spanish.
I’ve always heard that the easiest time in your life to learn a new language is when you are young. So we’ve recently added a new Spanish speaking character to our tv time – Lil Pim.
Lil Pim is a comprehensive DVD series, complete with cute Panda, with the goal of making language learning fun and easy. The entire DVD is spoken by native speakers and words are presented and repeated at regular intervals. Through a combination of animation and live action keeps children engaged in the videos. Each 35 minute DVD is segmented into seven 5-minute intervals which accommodates a young child’s attention span and allows for parent interaction.
We had the chance to watch the Spanish Playtime DVD 3. Even after watching it a couple of times after 3-4 weeks, Kora loves to learn so she is enthralled with it. Logan, however, is still not sure what to think. He usually finds something else to do while it’s on, but will stop and watch it in bits and pieces.
I definitely recommend the Lil Pim DVDs. Kora has picked up a number of new words and truly enjoys the DVD.
We give Lil Pim a big thumbs up!

Do they sell it in other languages? I love French and would prefer that over Spanish.
Yes, they sell the series in a wide array of languages.
That looks like so much fun for kids!
