This past week I had the wonderful opportunity to head down to Louisville, Kentucky and visit the Kentucky Fried Chicken headquarters.
I got the chance to tour the facility, visit the Colonel Sanders Museum, try my hand at cracking the vault that holds the secret recipe for Original Recipe Chicken, and even attempt to make some of the classic KFC chicken myself!
It turned out looking pretty good, don’t you think? It tasted great too!
It was a fantastic trip where I was thrilled to hear about the charitable nature of Colonel Sanders and Kentucky Fried Chicken.
I was amazed to learn that KFC holds contests for multiple college scholarships each year where they have awarded more than $5 million dollars in scholarships since the KFC Colonel’s Scholars Mission inception.
I was also touched to hear that KFC is loves to help families reunite. Just recently they reunited an overseas soldier with her daughters and her family and gave the daughters $20,000 college scholarships!
I also learned all about KFC Fresh. KFC has been delivering, preparing, and serving their chicken fresh for year. They are very proud of this fact and are now enthusiastically spreading the word. I’ll have a post up early next week with more details of KFC Fresh as well as lots of photos and a video of the trip.
