OK- Let me catch by breath! I am out of shape and trying hard to lose more than just a few pounds! I’ve been watching not only what I eat but also how much I eat…. those little snacks aren’t so little when I add them up!
When I was asked to review Joy Bauer’s Slimdown Workout DVD I was up for a challenge!
You may recognize the name Joy Bauer from the Today Show. She is a dietician and was previously a gymnast and is currently a slim fit female who has legs and abs that I envy! I put on some yoga pants and grabbed a water bottle and some weights and popped in the DVD. Avery, my 5 yr old daughter said she was going to exercise too!
I will spare you ridiculous photos and video clips of flabby arms jiggling and me sweaty.
It was a workout… and I am sad to admit that I didn’t even pick up the hand-held weights! The DVD consists of a five minute warm up, 2 twenty minute cardio-strength workouts, and a five minute cool down.
In the DVD Joy Bauer shows easy and harder move variations so you can “customize” your own workout. This makes the DVD easy for beginners and more challenging for advanced more fit people. Joy Bauer also teamed up with a dance choreographer Lisa for the DVD.
Thankfully I caught my breath and could write the review without aching! I will tell you that Joy Bauer has great positive energy which was motivating during the DVD. The background is not distracting in the video as other workout DVDs I have are. Avery was able to keep up with me and finish the workout. If you are looking to break a sweat and burn some calories, tone up, or trim down…or even if you are looking to tire out your kids… Joy Bauer’s Slimdown Workout DVD might be what you are looking for!
