Jishaku is the Japanese word for magnet and it’s also a fun magnet game for the school-age set.
While there are a number of variations on the game the version we enjoyed the most was “I’m Out.” The object is to take turns placing magnets into the game base without having them jump across and connect.
If the magnets connect, you collect them and add them to your pile. The first person to run out of magnets wins.
It sounds simple enough, but actually it’s quite challenging because the north and south poles of the magnets aren’t marked. So as you move your hand across the board to place a magnet you can feel the other magnets tug on the one in your hand and you have to figure out how to move so the magnets don’t jump and connect.
We had a lot of fun with this and my 6-year-old daughter, Jules, loved it. She really seemed to enjoy that the game went fast so we could play more than once in a short time span. While I only talked about “I’m Out,” there are a number of different ways to play and this kept the game new each time.
Jishaku would make a great holiday gift. I could see many members of the family sitting around playing this game after a big dinner. The best part is that it’s fun for kids and adults and it’s sure to cause a lot of laughs!
Thank you to Jishaku for providing the game for review. No compensation was recieved. The opinions are mine and that of my family.

Honestly, that sounds like something I’d like a lot!
I bet it is really easy to pick up the pieces when you’re done playing too! Good review, Steffane!
Thank you. I’d like to add this to our game collection.

This sounds like a fun game! I’d love to play this game at a family gathering!
This is a great game! My kids are learning about magnets in school this year, so this would even be educational.
