Thanks to lots of advertising and commercials starring Ellen DeGeneres, you probably have heard about the big changes in pricing at JCPenney this month. They’ve introduced “Fair and Square Pricing” which means they have done away with doorbusters, coupons, and other confusing and frustrating pricing strategies.
Instead they are offering only 3 types of pricing:
- Everyday – where they will have lower regular prices
- Month Long Values – better prices on the things you need now
- Best Prices – the lowest prices on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month while they last
I headed out on multiple occasions throughout the month to check out the new pricing structure. My immediate impression after the change was how much I liked the cleaner look of the store. No more endless clearance racks with clothes half-hanging on hangers due to frenzied previous customers trying to find the best deal. No more percentage off signs. No more stickers placed on top of stickers on the price tags.
Instead what I saw was a nice layout, with easy to read signs and price tags, which I greatly appreciated.
On these trips, let me tell you, I shopped my little heart out! I fully enjoyed my multiple visits to JCPenney and while there you may have seen me live tweeting using the hashtag #jcpfinds.
It was fun sharing all of the great deals on Twitter and now I’m excited to show you what I found in the photos below. We nearly had a fashion show in our house trying on all of the new clothes!
I’m thrilled to say that the highest I paid for any item was $20 and that was for a swimsuit cover-up! I’m still amazed that I could get all of this at such low prices.
A lovely purple cardigan for only $14!
A nice sweater for a business casual event I was attending for only $9!
A two-piece swimsuit that fit me perfectly and has a nice splash of color.
A cute cover-up to go with the swimsuit.
Sandals for Dave – only $10!
And lots of clothes for the kids all for under $15 each!
An adorable Minnie & Mickey shirt for Kora for our Disney trip in the spring.
And a cute Mickey shirt for Logan to wear on the same trip.
Kora loves skirts and dresses so she was thrilled that this skirt went so well with her Minnie & Mickey shirt.
Logan loved this wall of t-shirts full of his favorite characters! He had a tough time deciding which to buy.
A bright and colorful butterfly shirt that makes us all want summer to arrive tomorrow!
Cute shorts for Logan.
Kora immediately fell in love with here shirt because her Kindergarten classroom is known as “The Busy Bees.”
Another cute skirt – it was so summery and only $7, how could we resist?
And last but not least an adorable and sparkly pair of shorts for Kora.
What do you think? Aren’t those all great bargains? And everything is so cute and stylish too!
I’m happy with the new pricing at JCPenney and if you haven’t visited the store yet since the change, I recommend stopping in. I’m sure you will find a great deal or two as well!
Have you been to JCPenney since they changed their pricing structure? What do you think of it?
A gift card was provided. No compensation was received. The honest opinions are my own and those of my family.

I love that they are doing this! I always buy the boys skinny jeans there, because I can get the Arizona brand ones for $17 usually instead of $30+ elsewhere. Can’t wait to go in again and see the changes. Great finds!
I can’t remember the last time I bought clothes… but I’m loving the pricing structure… and great low prices too!
Wooo Hoo Great finds Tesa! I love JC Penney! I didn’t know they were starting this new pricing structure..awesome. Thanks for sharing:)
Blessings!
I went to JCP this weekend too and really loved the changed look. It was less hectic and sloppy looking.
Your kids are so darn cute!
