Jahgoo Baby Bathtub Review

To be honest, bath time is very scary to us.  The water level worries us a lot of the time, “Is it too high, too low?” We also stress about the temperature, “Is it too hot, or too cold?”  Tired Paul and I also get nervous with the shampoo, the sponge, the handling of the wet and slick baby and whether or not we would get soiled from the transfer from hot to cold by one of our children.  Needless to say, we needed something to calm us down in this area.

We took two different approaches to bathing time in regards to our two older children.  With Selina, our oldest, we used a hand-me-down bathtub that was functional but we always were very leery to use it because of its age and how dangerous the plastic tub was holding itself up.  When Sophia came along, we had to use a smaller “Tupperware shoebox” because of how small she was and that she was a preemie, who came a couple of weeks early.

Our girls are now five (5) and six (6) and we have since gotten rid of, sold or handed off many of our baby items, including the bathtubs, to other future Tired Moms.

Fast-forward to 2011 where Grayson Leroy, came into the world on May 8th (Mother’s Day) and when we saw the Jahgoo Baby Bathtub, we truly were blessed.

Jahgoo Baby Bathtub

It’s the only bath that provides anti-slip both on the inside as well as on the outside which I like because when we bathed the other two, we filled the water and put it on the floor in the bathroom, this way with the Jahgoo, we could place it in the actual bathtub, which I thought was a novel idea.  The bath is also equipped with soft grips for easy carrying as well as a plug for fast draining of the water.  So in essence it functions like any one of our regular tubs but for smaller bodies.

In research of this product, we came to find that Jahgoo actually stands for an amalgamation of jungle because bathing can turn into a jungle, jacuzzi because of its shape and goo-goo, which is usually baby’s first sound.  Seeing this knew we were not alone in worrying about bath time because it can be a jungle with the baby crying, water splashing and the Tired Mom and Dad getting as wet as the infant in some cases.

Right after Grayson was born, we were visited by friends from Northern Ontario, Canada.  She has an infant herself who we let use the bath tub.

To test the tub, she filled it up but took it out of the bigger tub onto the floor which showed us that the grips were high quality and that the plug surely did maintain a good amount of pressure without leaking.  Their little one, Addyson, did not cry for the first few minutes but did so once the bath time reached the washing of her head and the rinsing of the soap.

In review of the tub, it was a great change from the hand-me-downs and the smaller “Tupperware” because it wasn’t scary to use.  It had function as well as fashion and was not an eye sore or something that was just thrown in a corner never to be used again.  We take good care of the Jahgoo tub and will be using this frequently with Grayson, that is if my other two girls aren’t pretending to play house and uses it for a play tub for their own dollies.

The product was provided for review. No compensation was received. The honest opinions are my own and that of my family.
