International Children’s Festival at PlayhouseSquare – May 2-7, 2011

I’m listing this upcoming event 4 1/2 months in advance because it’s one that’s not to be missed. The International Children’s Festival held at PlayhouseSquare from May 2nd – 7th, 2011 is an incredible event that features a fun and interactive experience with performances, workshops, exhibits, and an art walk. The best part is that many of these amazing activities and events are free! This is the Second Annual Children’s Festival, the first drew more than 12,000 students and families.

The goal of the International Children’s Festival is to introduce children to the arts and to help them explore the world. Just a few of the acts include: 46 Circus Acts in 45 Minutes, Boats – A Puppet Show, Celebrating the Music of Tito Puente, Room on a Broom, and more.

Some of the free activities include: the Art Walk, the 14th Street World Stage, take-home crafts, face painting, balloon animals, and much more.

Save the date now for the International Children’s Festival and as it draws closer more information will be available. A listing of some of the performances can be found on the PlayhouseSquare website.
