I remember going to the movies as a kid and it always being so much fun. The adventure, the laughs, and the excitement all on the big screen. Kora & Logan love going to the movies as much as I did.

Whenever they hear about a new kids movie or see a trailer they count down the days until the movie’s release. That’s why I’m excited about The Boxtrolls.
The last two movies we went to with the kids we saw The Boxtrolls in the previews. It looked like a very cute movie and so unbelievably creative. It’s a stop motion 3D comedy adventure film based on a children’s novel. Kora & Loga saw the previews and were immediately intrigued. You can see why here:
Doesn’t that look so imaginative and fun?
I really love the messages in the movie that are showcased in the trailer:
- Dare To Be Brave
- Dare To Be Free
- Dare To Be Square
These are wonderful messages for children and I’m excited to see how they play out in the movie. As a mom in this day and age, I’m always trying to teach Kora & Logan to be themselves, to be proud of who they are, and to build their self-confidence. This movie not only wraps these lessons in fun and adventure but in incredibly creativity too.
Going to the movies as a family, especially one with such a great message, is a fun and memorable way to spend time together. We often will grab a bite to eat beforehand or we’ll get to the theater early to get some popcorn and other treats and pick out our seats. These are wonderful opportunities to chat with the kids about school, their after-school, and summer activities and more. It’s amazing what we learn in this time.
We also like to hang out after the movie and chat about our favorite parts or things that stood out. This is always eye-opening because the kids always seem to have questions about things Dave and I barely noticed. These questions are often good discussion starters and we’ve had some interesting and fun family chats after seeing a new movie.
Kora & Logan can’t wait to see The Boxtrolls. It comes out on September 26, 2014.
Those are great messages. This looks like a really good movie that my son would enjoy.
Those are great themes featured in the movie, I’m sure we will end up checking it out in the theaters.
Looks like an awesome movie for the whole family to see. My kids would love this movie. Cant wait to show them the trailor.
